To ask to see your tattoos

I’ve always thought about it, but I’m not a very inspired person and I’m now seriously considering one. I think they should be personal but I’d love to see what others have!

So show me your tattoos!

This is mine. Got it during the most awful period of my life ever. It represents my personal motto: be gentle, be brave.

I’ve got 28 of various different styles and sizes, some have meaning and some I just liked. Think this one is my fav, hoping to add to it and make more of a thigh sleeve once lockdown is over.

Sorry if you know this already, don't want to.patronise you....most artists will be able to design something for you if you just give them some ideas. For example, a robin and some holly, dormouse in a teacup, ship and some circles, mainly in greens - whatever. If you pick an artists whose style you like the design will hopefully suit you too...makes it unique and personal without you needing any artist skill. Which I have found helpful. Did you know where is a tattoos board on mumsnet? It's quiet but there are some tips there.

@lilyboleyn I love the colours on that! I love the representation with it too - very well designed.

@Avelosa - again, the colours are lovely. So vibrant! What made you do for sunflowers?

@Scout2016 I didn’t know that, so thank you! I’m not particularly artistic myself but I want something personalised. There’s a local tattooist that specialises in watercolours (which I love!) so I might get in touch and see what he suggests

As Scout has said, find an artist whose style you like (look through their work and make sure you like most of it). Send them the sort of thing you'd like and they'll draw something personalised up for you. You can change elements of it before they actually do it. I have 5 tattoos and all of them have been drawn up for me by the artists.

I got my first tattoo when I was at university designed by a friend. Would love to have more but expensive! Worth it though. My advice do your research word of mouth. Don't go by the shop go by word of mouth. They are beautiful examples 👍❤️

I got my first tattoo in Feb this year. I gave the tattoo artist a brief of what I wanted and he came up with a design. Thinking of what to get next!

Not the best picture but this is my favourite. My mom passed away when my son was 18 months old so this represents me and my son sitting on a lily with my angel mom watching over us.
