Hands up, I am a boring person.
My life is a bit dull and I don't really do many interesting things on a daily basis. My dh is nice and normal, my dc are lovely and have no health problems and my family are on the right side of crazy. We have a boring car, go on boring holidays and have boring friends (whom I love, btw!).

So what??

If I want to post a thread asking how to get stains out of my Le Creuset, I am bl**dy well going to do it no matter what anyone says. If I had a more interesting life then I might ask advice on getting bodily fluids out of sequins thongs, but I buy mine from M&S and they are machine washable at 40 degrees.

I know that there are so many people on MN who have really difficult things to overcome and who are still nice, friendly and helpful to us boring posters. That is how it should be I think. And F*ck you if you don't agree

I told dp about it earlier, he was sold when I told him about the lifetime guarantee

maisemor · 28/09/2007 16:46

No wonder you skydive Custardo, you won't be able to walk having done it 9 times a night .

lucyellensmum · 28/09/2007 16:47

BOOOOORING!!!!!!!!!!! said in an immature teenage voice

talulasmum · 28/09/2007 16:48

sugarmatches; honest to god i really dont know what a le creuset is? is it something like a frying pan?

lucyellensmum · 28/09/2007 16:48

now seriously girls, i actually DO need new saucepans. I dont want non-stick. I like the look of le crusuet, but bugger me they are so HEAVY! Any thoughts?

lucyellensmum · 28/09/2007 16:50

oh talula, come off it, im as common as muck me, but even i walk around department stores looking at stuff i can't afford. Le crusuet are those hideously expensive saucepans in all colours that give you muscles like a weightlifter if you have them.

sugarmatches · 28/09/2007 16:59

I am going to admit that my dh has an aunt that gives us a piece every Christmas. We have bought a few things on our own, but there aint no way I am ever walking out of John Lewis £100 poorer and carrying a frying pan!!

I did splurge and buy a cute red heart shaped casserole dish one year for Valentines day, but I reasoned with myself that cooking a cheese souffle would be cheaper than going out.

Btw, Ikea do a knock off version and it is a really pretty green colour.

I had never heard of le creuset til today but DP agrees that they are great value so I have his credit card in hand
YES, I DO NEED ALL OF THOSE PANS AND DISHES.

Any more recc's before I go ahead and get these??

PatsyCline · 28/09/2007 17:01

Le Creuset pans are great for getting rid of bingo wings. Saves hours down the gym.

3andnomore · 28/09/2007 17:02

we bought our le cruiset in france, as it is cheaper there...obviously, lol...we got married in UK but had to go back to germany , and went by ferry and via france anywya...so, bought it from teh wedding money on our way home

Lorayn · 28/09/2007 17:02

Ha, sugarmatches, being pregnant we have saved a fortune on wine, might as well spend it wisely.

It's only 150 quid for a couple of pans

3andnomore · 28/09/2007 17:03

don't bother with frying pans...to bloody heavy...casserole pans are fabulous and so are those 1 handled ones, imo...

Lorayn · 28/09/2007 17:04

I feel so MNish, I am on multiple sites, boden and lakeland LOL

sugarmatches · 28/09/2007 17:04

Lorayn, make sure you shop around a bit.
Debenhams sell it and they often have a sale. There are also some cheaper places on the internet.
They are really brilliant though and are so easy to clean.
Get them

but i cant stand ikea, i hate it, i do, it brings me out in a rash - i hate the whole concept of having to effectively be my own warehouseperson. Spending hours trying to find something that inevitably comes in two boxes on separate ailes, then having to queue for AGES. The disinterested staff, the ludicruous delivery fees, the fact that i can't buy online, oh and that their stock checker is about two days behind. Oh and those poxy bloody meat balls, Yep - i'm itchy just at the thought of it - bluuuueeeghh

Talula, can a cadge a lift to ARGOS?

mytwopenceworth · 28/09/2007 17:07

I am unbelievably boring....let's face it, I was never going to be a wild ride since I spend much of my day chatting via a computer screen to people I've never met....screams No Life At All.

Desiderata · 28/09/2007 17:10

.. on the other hand, I am extremely exciting.

It's just my life that's dull ..

sugarmatches · 28/09/2007 17:10

We got this and it has been the most used item in our kitchen. Seriously, we use it every night. You can fry in it and then put it in the oven. Also, get a grillit because it keeps the fat out of your fried foods.

OP posts:
Lorayn · 28/09/2007 17:12

Ah mytwopenceworth, come on, do you think with a real life you would be so knowledgeable about saucepans????
It has it's pitfalls I agree, but socialising via the net I can look like sienna miller, sing like whitney houston, cook like nigella lawson and keep a house like anthea turner, all whilst eating big fat slices of jam on toast in my pjs with last nights make up still on. It's great

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 28/09/2007 17:12

Ellbell is bloody NOT tedious.. she is one of the most interesting people I know!!

I wish my life was boring. It's not exciting either.. that is entirely the wrong word.. in case anyone's envious!

sugarmatches · 28/09/2007 17:12

I know what you mean about Ikea. Dh and I went at 10pm on a Monday last time and it was absolutely heaving!!

OP posts:
ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 28/09/2007 17:14

And what the bloody fuck IS a Le Crueset or whatever the bloody hell you mad wenches are banging on about further down!

No wonder I am worried about coming to the meet up! [scared emoticon]

sugarmatches · 28/09/2007 17:14

But I bought this in black and I love it. it looks so nice in our room. It was a bugger to put together though, I felt so bad for dh...I almost got up to help him

OP posts:
ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 28/09/2007 17:15

It's a saucepan is it??! Christ.. long may I remain UNknowledgeable..!
