Hands up, I am a boring person.
My life is a bit dull and I don't really do many interesting things on a daily basis. My dh is nice and normal, my dc are lovely and have no health problems and my family are on the right side of crazy. We have a boring car, go on boring holidays and have boring friends (whom I love, btw!).

So what??

If I want to post a thread asking how to get stains out of my Le Creuset, I am bl**dy well going to do it no matter what anyone says. If I had a more interesting life then I might ask advice on getting bodily fluids out of sequins thongs, but I buy mine from M&S and they are machine washable at 40 degrees.

I know that there are so many people on MN who have really difficult things to overcome and who are still nice, friendly and helpful to us boring posters. That is how it should be I think. And F*ck you if you don't agree

"And f*ck you if you don't agree" - what a sweetheart. You'll go far with that kind of attitude I'm sure.

Will fuck off.

as someone whos had to resort to incontinence underwear cos when the urge comes i have to go like within minutes and get freek by loo cues. it realy isnt funny. but if you think about the amount of products boots and tena etc sell its not unusual either. weird though how you can sit over coffee and discuss hay fever. but bladders generate so much embarassment and taboo. we need to see it as a normal part of life and get less hung up

have a good flight talula, remember to lead them all in the birdie song and agadoo, dont try and deny it, you'll be there, dancing with your dodgy aunties and berating the canapes.

Zipping in and out today, supposed to be working...
LEM, I didn't find the M&T thread boring. Hope I wasn't supposed to. I found it reassuring, funny and brave. I am not alone - sometimes I just feel it! I have done my years of M&T, I am an old hag who may or may not be pre-menopausal, I avoid tiny people at all costs.
On a boring note, as much as I have fought to stop the onslaught of bore over the years, I now know that in every household some poor b**r has to deal with the boring stuff. Life is much easier when you deal with the boring stuff, it's a grave mistake to ignore the boring stuff. It has to be dealt with. So whilst I am aware that people are dealing with life/death and everything in between on other threads (and sometimes I could cry for them) the boring, some might say silly, stuff is also important.
As the long lamented (or at least his bum is) Michael Hutchence said:

"Say I'm crying, looking at
What's on TV [or on mumsnet]
Pain and suffering and the
struggle to be free,
It can never be denied, nor
Will I ever ignore
But when I see you [lot] coming
I can take it all"

lem; lol! know what you mean. most members of mn have had some sort of go at me, but you, lorayn and maybe one or two others are so seriously cool, you read between the lines and know that im as boring as the next person, ( actually would rather talk about the fruit fly than toasters) i'll never read the good housekeeping section,
really will lose the will to live!

btw; never really been into big brother, find it all a bit......... chavvy x x

TM - i could talk for hours on the nervous system development of the fruit fly, but you might find that more boring than toasters to be honest.

The thing is, alot of design and engineering goes into designing toasters, there must be a little man in a dark room somewhere wracking his brains as we speak trying to think of a new concept in scorching bread.

I think you should take a look at the good housekeeping FLY threads if you want a good laugh - now that i've never understood,. But thats just me, i'm not very domesticated.I would have thought there plenty of ammo for you there Bit suspect of the style threads too - its all i have time to do to tie my hair back in a dodgy looking pony tail in the mornings (thats not parenthood, ive always been like that), i dont look at lots of threads because TO ME they are boring.

Nah, i'd rather spend my time baiting you

Vikkin - if you think my M&T thread was boring, you should actuaully go to M&T - lol.

Seriously though, this is why im so bloody addicted to mumsnet, because, just like in real life, when you are with a group of people you feel comfortable with, you do discuss lots of inane rubbish as well as the serious stuff. I can remember some very heated conversations in our tea bar at uni (now we are talking serious tefal heads here) about the latest goings on in big brother. I dont watch it anymore as i dont have anyone to discuss the boring complexities of it, you know, like, did she really fuck him in the swimming pool? What a slapper, that sort of thing.

completely agree, read a thread last night about someone that keeps wetting herself. not sure if she was taking the piss ( if you pardon the pun) but really is time tm left the building. will leave you to your topics on incontinence and toasters. god knows what you'll be talking about when your old, just hope im not sitting next to you on the bus.

we arent saying you were a name changer, maybe schizophrenic or suffering from a multiple personality disorder though

It really isnt nice or good manners to keep telling people they're boring, if we want to talk kitchenware, we will.

Maybe you should take your own advice 'if you cant think of anything interesting to say, just say nothing' Cos tbh, constantly berating our topic of conversation certainly isn't interesting
