Provera to delay period

Has anyone been prescribed this? If so, what was your experience?
I asked the GP for something to delay my period for a holiday coming up soon (if it goes ahead!) and they have prescribed me this. Although I thought there was another pill that they normally prescribed instead. She said they prefer to use this now. I’ve got 10 days worth and I’m due to start taking them three days before my period is due. It’s not always really regular, so I hope I’m not too late in taking it.

norethisterone is the other pill often prescribed. I haven't tried any of them

Yes for some reason she didn’t seem keen on prescribing norethisterone.

I have no advice with the one you've been prescribed but I did take norestitherone last year. It was fine, i had to take it 2 or 3 times a day (I cant remember) from roughly 3 days before I was due on and I took it for 10 days and I came on the day after I stopped taking it.

@Nutrigrainygoodness thanks. Did you have any side effects?
