The window supplier is coming to measure my windows next week as I am replacing the lot and having a patio door in the kitchen.
The old windows are tilt and turn and having spoken to several window suppliers, I have decided to have white casement windows fitted. Advantages - you can put things on the sill as the window opens outwards (they will be bottom opening). Blinds are easier to mount. They are also cheaper. But I am wavering as am wondering how secure casement windows are if they are open in a bedroom. I always open the window at night in the summer. I am not exactly living in a hotbed of crime though but do live alone. I have lovely big windows with two panes and one vertical bar in each window.
I was going to have wooden sills in lounge and bedroom and tiled sills in kitchen/bathroom but I suppose I could always do that later. I just want to get this done before winter and I will have to replaster anyway.
