Seen so many neighbour-related threads on here so I'm sorry to be adding another one.

This weather is beautiful but why why WHY do my neighbours insist on sitting in their gardens playing shit music, letting kids scream and their dogs bark? Yeah I get that it's warm outside but it is past 11 at night - does warm weather mean less consideration?

Our neighbours have been an absolute nightmare since lockdown began and it doesn't seem to be getting better now we are emerging out the other end.

I wish I could pick my house up and move. AIBU or am I just a grumpy bitch...

If a developer built an estate and advertised it for being for quiet owners only, I think they would be astonished at the resulting stampede.

Blimey Starksforthewin I think you'd be onto something with that idea!

It's hard to understand the impact of shitty inconsiderate anti-social neighbours (aiming that at adults, not children playing during normal hours) until you're subjected to it - earplugs and Flowers to Midsommer and all posters suffering, I share your pain.

Cottonhead - is there anything you don't moan about!

@notreallybotheredaboutausernam

you reported someone to the council for doing a house up during the day! A Friday as well - you poor old thing someone working on their house during the day - how do you cope with life!

Some right miserable moaning people around.

Neverendingweeds · 27/06/2020 16:15

I think people are just getting fed up with neighbours - we have been stuck inside too long and you begin to notice how much they annoy you!

Our next door neighbours are pissing me off, we have a baby and toddler, they have a toddler. Doesn't stop them being outside gone 10pm screaming and shrieking when my children are trying to sleep!!

Plus the performance parenting that we get subjected to is really really grating Angry

@Beldon

Our neighbour blasts (concert volume) him singing shit county songs on his karaoke, for hours! 2 other neighbours try to drown it out by with loud music, one is normally radio and the other plays dance type music. It’s horrid and we can’t sit in garden for long. This happens every sunny day at moment. As well as all the yappy dogs close by barking constantly - I’m not sure if they think the yapping is cute or no one can hear it, but none of them try to stop it. I’ve lived in a few houses and use to some low level music, kids playing, odd dog barking etc which is totally fine but this is torture.
Oh god, you are describing exactly what I endured for 8 long years, in my old flat. I had to move.

I wonder if you're my neighbour. You're both as lovely as each other.
notreallybotheredaboutausernam · 28/06/2020 19:19

@hmmph surprisingly, yes! I was expecting it to be annoyed but they spoke to him and dropped me round a letter with a noise diary to fill out. I'm hoping them talking to him will be enough.

notreallybotheredaboutausernam · 28/06/2020 19:26

@whysomanyexcuses not for working on his house 'one friday" for using loud powertools in his garden all day, every day for 3 months. Damn right I reported him.

Babysharkdoodoodood · 28/06/2020 20:05

I'm afraid I went full fishwife yesterday. Worked (from home) from 7am until 5pm. Twat over the road is building a shed. Has taken him 2 weeks so far. I was on nights last week and all I could hear was the bloody hammer during the day. He was at it again with power tools yesterday-all day!

I was so tired I had to go to bed early at around 7.30. He was still at it! I just had enough and shrieked out the window; " Will you fucking shut the fuck up!" Whole street went deathly quiet. I got blessed sleep.

destinasia · 28/06/2020 20:16

@notreallybotheredaboutausernam my neighbours had their family round to use power tools from 8am-5pm every single day of proper lockdown. I'd had enough by mid April and turned my music on full blast for about 15 minutes. They reported me!!!
