Playgrounds are opening next week and already I've heard from a few parents who are saying they won't let their children anywhere near them.

DS has been desperate to go and I'm of the opinion that the risk is very, very, low. Just wondering what other people's thoughts are?

Mine will be going. They have been playing out with their friends the past few days 🤷‍♀️

Bmidreams · 23/06/2020 19:41

That annoying shoulder shrug emoji sums you up. No sense of social responsibility.

Twickerhun · 23/06/2020 19:42

Damn right they will! Good hand wash when they get home. Squirt of hand sanitiser occasionally. Job done.

Seabreeze18 · 23/06/2020 19:42

Absolutely we are going and I will take some antibac gel with me

olympicsrock · 23/06/2020 19:42

It’s fine . There are very few covid cases around. It’s outside . The risk is minimal.

Bringmewineandcake · 23/06/2020 19:43

Are they really opening next week?
If so, yes absolutely. Liberal doses of hand gel while out and a good wash when we get back.

BellaMoo · 23/06/2020 19:43

Definitely. Anti-bac gel while we’re out and a good hand wash when we’re homex

Megan2018 · 23/06/2020 19:43

I’ll be taking my baby, can’t wait to try her on the swings. But there’s literally only about 10 kids in the village so it’s a very quiet little playground.
I won’t be rushing there, but will go at some point in July.

Cupcakegirl13 · 23/06/2020 19:43

Yes for sure , as others have said hand gel when we’re out and a good hand wash when we get home.

LuxLuxLux84 · 23/06/2020 19:44

Yes the children badly need this.

BadAlice · 23/06/2020 19:44

Yep. We’re not really regular playground goers. I find it easier to tire DS out running around fields, forests, nature reserves etc. But it will be nice to be able to mix things up a bit. He’s just about the right age for sandpits now too.

Nix2020 · 23/06/2020 19:45

We'll be there. He has the big. Slide to go down. He's been shouting wow at it all lockdown.

rhowton · 23/06/2020 19:45

My little girl will be beyond excited to go on the park. Every time we walk past and she says sadly "the parks still closed, mummy" i still get sad.

ellenpartridge · 23/06/2020 19:45

Yes will be going regularly and see the risk as extremely low.

InfiniteGerbils · 23/06/2020 19:46

We have been a couple of times already as nobody appears to give a toot anymore and with three under 5 it’s been a LONG time.

For me this is a virus we have to live with. And I want my family to start living again.

Mummydaydreams · 23/06/2020 19:46

Straight away, can't wait, I've got two toddlers who need to exercise and play

Drivingdownthe101 · 23/06/2020 19:46

Yes definitely. Mine are back at school anyway so I can’t see how it’s any different.

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/06/2020 19:47

Yes when allowed we will go

Sanitize hands before and after

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 23/06/2020 19:49

The quiet one on our estate that only a handful of families can access? Yes

Big busy ones... Not sure. Im more worried about crowds than surfaces.

PickACoolUserName · 23/06/2020 19:50

This is interesting to see the totally different responses to the ones I got from parents I know in real life.

We will definitely be going. Our local one has been locked throughout and my son is gutted every time we go past.

In Spain they opened this week. Masks on, handgel before and after, and leave of more than a couple of other kids show up or if kids or parents show up without masks. Good thing with masks is they prevent little hands going in mouths!

I am very cautious but parks we are going, yes.

BornOnThe4thJuly · 23/06/2020 19:52

Grin

Bit over the top, considering loads of kids are back at school and certainly a lot of younger ones aren’t social distancing at all. Lots of kids mental health is terrible due to isolation, it’s down to parents to make individual decisions that are best for their child. I haven’t been arranging play dates for my child, but did let him play with a friend he bumped into in the park last week.

NobbyButtons · 23/06/2020 19:52

I would be happy for them to use playgrounds as I think the risk of contracting covid from an outdoor surface in warm weather has to be extremely low. We'll take hand sanitiser. Is it any riskier than picking up a packet of pasta in the supermarket that someone has previously touched?

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 23/06/2020 19:53

Defo going! Will hand gel before & after for the hell of it

MissBaskinIfYoureNasty · 23/06/2020 19:54

I love that things slowly opening and getting back to normal for children is getting people frothing at the mouth. How sad.
We will absolutely be going and we will see their mates there too!
