Open the playgrounds ffs

Surely playgrounds can be opened now? It’s hot weather, the kids are bored shitless & there’s a nation of parents who are fed up to the back teeth of crafts & entertaining pre-schoolers with tantrum-loaded walks. I am so fed up. Just please open the playgrounds now!

I have been moaning about this on Twitter! None the wiser about when it's happening as no one in authority is replying to me. YANBU!!

Isitbedtimeyet4 · 23/06/2020 15:49

I thought they’d announced they would be opening from July 4th? I definitely could be wrong though 😂
Honestly I can’t wait, we have a playground right outside and my daughters love the swings!

PawPatrolMakesMeDrink · 23/06/2020 15:50

BBC website says they will from 4.7.20.

It’s on the bbc that they are opening on July 4th. Along with theme parks and...model villages.

Thefthepain · 23/06/2020 15:52

There was three families using our local playground at the end of last week, I noticed when we went for a walk, so I assumed they'd already be reopened!

Ori37 · 23/06/2020 16:09

Oh you’ve all made my day, hopefully they will reopen on the 4th. I’ve had enough

Yes officially from July 4th but if it's quiet I wouldn't hesitate going

Littleelffriend · 23/06/2020 16:22

I think it’s June 29th in Scotland?

Feellikedancingyeah · 23/06/2020 16:30

They won't be opening on 4 July. Found out as climbing centre can't open as it is also in the "gym" category 😠

BlingLoving · 23/06/2020 16:32

Outdoor playgrounds from 4 July. No indoor playgrounds.

flamingochill · 23/06/2020 16:34

Outdoor playgrounds can reopen in England on 4th July if they are "safe" I assume this means the council have to pick up litter, might have to trim bushes if they overhang the area etc

x2boys · 23/06/2020 16:34

My house backs into a park wit a large adventure playground in it ,nobody appears to have given a shit about the " rules " and parents have been letting their kids on the playground for weeks 🙄

bigchris · 23/06/2020 16:34

More outdoor spaces will open if they can do so safely, including outdoor gyms and children's playgrounds
From BBC news

bigchris · 23/06/2020 16:35

flamingo they're doing that here now, have been all along, toilets are open too

flamingochill · 23/06/2020 16:47

They are emptying the bin here but I see discarded gloves and stuff when I walk past.

BogRollBOGOF · 23/06/2020 16:58

If I'm by a quiet, unobstructed playground then it's fair game. I spent a wonderful hour shivering away in a sharp wind watching the kids playing with an energy that they haven't had in weeks. Well worth it.
