Fat people hate summer? *light hearted*

I'm currently fat, by at least 3st, I have always been overweight by about a stone but the last 3 years am just fat, self inflicted as eat too much crap.

My friend and I were chatting today and I said I'm really not looking forward to this heatwave as I hate summer at the best of times, her reply was "well your overweight so of course you'll hate summer"

She has a point as carrying extra weight isn't great in the heat, but my point was I've ALWAYS disliked summer.

My wedding was in October as hated the idea of sweating in my dress (was quite slim when married), i don't go on holiday to really hot counties or will go out of season to avoid peak heat, hate etc etc

AIBU to assume slim people can dislike summer too? Friend was adamant it's my weight and couldn't get her head round the fact I just don't like summer / hot weather.

Missing mum, I like these threads as I'm surrounded by ' lizard people' who love it all and just think I'm weird and a bit of a moaner . Moi? Me moan ? 😅
If I was a size 10 and had skin that tanned I might be a bit better about heat!

When I was fat I lived the summer
Because the clothes were all floaty. Except beachwear. I wasn't keen on that! But everything else, great.
Winter seemed all about skinny jeans and boots which wasn't me at all

I've ranged between a size 8 and currently a size 18. I loved summer when smaller - lots of tiny shorts and little vests. I hate it now I'm bigger - I'm always too got as I overlayer.

I know quite a few slim people who hate summer. I also know a couple of overweight people who love (or at least they say they do!) summer. I did have my suspicions though when my Dd's very overweight friend said that she 'was loving the hot weather' when we had that heatwave in 2018. She was bright red in the face,and sweat was pouring off her. Maybe she WAS loving it,but if I was sweating profusely with a face like a beetroot,I certainly wouldn't be loving it! I think the problem is that if you are fat,you are embarrassed to admit that you find hot weather uncomfortable. I am a fatty myself and I know that anything over 24 degrees makes me melt. But many people look at me as if I'm mad when I say I don't enjoy the heat.
