To think it's obnoxious to burn rubbish?

This is the third consecutive day some neighbours (not sure exactly what house) have been doing it. It's in an urban back garden, about 25 metres from our house and loads of others, and it's stinking our house out. I've just looked and seen five people involved in it; I reckon it's workers doing it not just the residents. Seems to mostly be wood but who knows what they're actually putting on that fire.

It’s illegal if they’ve brought the waste in from elsewhere. Even in their own garden with their own waste, a lot of councils are asking people not to burn waste as poor air quality is a contributing factor in covid fatalities.

I suggest you contact Environmental Health at your local council if you’re in the UK.

Ime it is usual for builders to have a small fire going and throw bits of wood on it S they go. Pretty sure it's legal. I think you would know if they were burning sering other than paper and wood!
