Dreams are boring

I find listening to other people's dreams so tedious and boring. I can't figure out why as people are always telling me I'm a good listener. The thing is, when I remeber one of my own dreams, I want to tell someone about it and I can tell the other person finds hearing about them as tedious as I do. But maybe my dreams are just not that interesting.

YANBU - There is absolutely nothing as tedious as hearing other people’s dreams! I always resist the impulse to share mine even when I find them fascinating.

If we're being honest here, other people's holiday photos are boring too.

Other peoples dreams tend to be boring, mine are usually terrifying or really, really fucked up so I tend to keep them to myself lest people think I'm completely deranged.

I've had to make the rule that dd1 isn't allowed to tell me about her dreams because they're too boring. Dd2 never tries to tell me.

Oh god I remember a full afternoon of a boring friend showing me her whole life’s holiday photo’s ‘that’s me, my mum and my sister....’ yes I know who you are! Mil downloaded me snd DH’s holiday photos onto her tablet to show her friends. How bored they must have been looking at holiday pictures even Mil hadn’t been present at.

I think that’s a pretty common thing - dreams are normally only interesting to the dreamer!

The last dream I remember included me being shot in the head. I actually felt the bullet going in.

I only tell people my dreams when they’ve featured in a weird/funny way. I don’t tell them the whole thing. Just their specific bit. Regular dreams are boring but sometimes dreams can be funny. Depends on the storyteller as well. Some people are better at retelling than others.

I kinda agree. Dreams are only interesting if it's relevant to the listener.

Same goes with the holiday photos example. Again only interesting if it's relevant or recent.
