AIBU to ask what to do with this baby bird?

Hi there, posting here for traffic!

A Jay flew into the garden with three baby birds in its beak about an hour ago, it dropped two of them which were dead, but the third is sheltering in a bush. Usually I'd obviously leave a fledgling well alone but this one seems quite small still (although partially feathered and hopping) and I doubt its mum knows where it is, given the Jay seemed to fly in from a different garden. The Jay is now also still trying to get at it, is there anything we can do? Sad

Thanks!

We found a hatchling last week, but only managed to keep him going for 48 hours. RSPCA/wildlife rehab all closed for Covid. Best we could do was keep him warm and feed him dog food off a cocktail stick 🙁 but we knew the odds were bad.

I did see this online yesterday which I’ve not watched yet, don’t know if it will help m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=3157501247599690&id=2129037243779434

I know this sounds harsh but unless you can find a wildlife rehab or vet to take it within the next 2 hours, its kinder to let the jay have it. Its probably been injured, its in shock, and it will need fluids and care.

Don't suppose anyone can identify the species? Will try finding a wildlife rehab/see if the vet will help!

Poor little guy looks very young. Could it be a starling?

It looks like a house sparrow, is got feathers so thats a good thing, its not as fragile as a younger one.
