How regular were your periods after birth?

Wasn’t sure whether to put in parenting or pregnancy and don’t seem to get many comments on either thread so hopefully it’s okay to post here.

Just wondering how regular/irregular your periods were after birth?

I had a c-section 10 weeks ago and had what I’m sure was my first period since on 21 May, it lasted around 5 days and although it was much heavier than normal it did seem like a period. My cycles used to be between 28-32 days.

I never track my periods, but I looked online and apparently I should be starting my next period around now, but I’ve had no symptoms at all.

Had a little nausea but that’s it and that isn’t my usual symptom. No real cramps or anything like that which I used to get.

Is this normal? What were your periods like after birth? I’m just not really sure what to expect!

Thank you!

Everyone is different, I had a baby in December and have still yet to have a period. I was breastfeeding which affects your periods but stopped at 3 months.
My health visitor said they can be irregular up to 12 months post partum. Also depends if you've gone straight onto birth control.
But yeah if you had a baby 10 weeks ago I wouldn't worry at all if you aren't back in a regular cycle

7 months post birth and period has been regular past 2 months. Are you BF?

Also if you have nausea could there be a chance your pregnant?

Thanks both. @ineedcoffee2345. I am not breastfeeding, my nipples weren’t easy to latch on so I have been exclusively formula feeding. I have taken several tests and all negative including one today at the hospital (was in for gallbladder issues) but I guess it’s too early to test. The nausea has been on and off - last week I had this smell I’ve only ever smelt when pregnant so it did make me wonder, but we have been using condoms.

Sorry posted to soon. If al showing negative i wouldn't worry. Alot if women never fully get back to regular periods. With dd1 mine took over rr a year
