TFL buses and ‘bus full’ signs

Has anyone witnessed these being used correctly, the drivers seem to have them on the dash at all times. I live next t the bus terminus and they pull out empty in most cases with the sign on.
And I don’t blame the driver wanting a quiet life, but further down the route way more than the stated numbers pile on. (If they didn’t some bus stops further along the route may as well be taken out of service).
Is it unlucky here in East London? Are other seeing it being handled better elsewhere

When I last got on the bus on Tuesday morning, in SW London, the driver did put up the signs to display the bus was already full. But when he stopped to let 1 passenger off 2 others got on and he just carried on driving as they wouldn’t even acknowledge him saying that it wasn’t safe. After a few more stops there was 4 people standing up on a single decker bus and the driver ended a up loudly swearing to himself. It kind of made me relieved that in a couple of weeks I’ll be getting the train into work.

I was on a bus that got very heated and sweary, but for different reasons. The route is usually very congested, so a 30+ route was taking under 10min. Tfl tried to regulate the buses to timetable by sitting at very other bus stop. On a hot day tempers got frayed after a combined 20min at bus stops just waiting. The driver ended up saying ‘oh fuck it then’ back and stopping waiting.

The buses have bus full signs now?? I am in London but haven’t see this. Is it new? I thought with face masks they were now dropping the 20 limit on buses?

I’ve seen in all over London, yellow signs in the dashboard
