AIBU to think that schools can't return to normal while social distancing remains?

So many people want schools back to normal in September but how can they be? Even if social distancing was reduced to 1 meter it's still going to be a logistic nightmare for schools to manage and a long way from normal.
I have a child in year 10 and a child in year 7 who attends a special school due to autism and severe learning difficulties. They will both have a few check-in sessions in the last few weeks of term but it's going to be a world away from normal.
People are demanding the full reopening of schools but I just can't see how it can be done - do they just want to end all social distancing in schools and return to normal?
AIBU to think we can't have social distancing and schools open and working at full capacity?

Beijing, India, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, Turkey is now starting to show a rise now, coinciding with their summer holidays ending last week.

All are showing a significant rise since April/May since they eased lockdown measures.

I can’t even remember where I read this, it was one of the scientific pages, I’m sure the guardian, the economist and the independent had also made articles about it.

Half of those though havent peaked yet (India/Mexico) Beijing is a localised break out of under 500 cases (well officially). Turkey opened up everything and Sweden have had a surge in testing.

But schools do HAVE to open in some form to all pupils in September. I think full time is overly optimistic and a 2 day week is probably more likely for the first half term with some measures in place. But surely you dont think they should be shut for longer.

We also will potentially have localised lockdown and shutdowns for a time as well

I didn’t say they’ve peaked, I said they’ve had a significant rise since they eased lockdown measures and that’s with social distancing and wearing mask in public.

Turkey as well as the above still have restrictions on those over 65 and those under 18, and bars and nightclubs have yet to open still. (We have family living there)

I’m not disagreeing with you, I’m saying it’s simply not as easy to saying “all will be normal in Sept” because the science and scientific say otherwise.
