Children’s book about a girl who pretended she had a Sister

Bit of a longshot but by any chance does anyone know what this book is called?

It’s about a girl whose name I think was Binky. The class were asked to do a project on their siblings but Binky doesn’t have any brothers or sisters and was too shy to tell anyone this. I don’t think she had many friends either. She finds an old family photo of her Auntie as a child, who has the same red hair as herself and she uses the photo of her Auntie for her project about her ‘sister’. It had a really nice ending, although I can’t remember much more than that!

I read it at school in the 90s.

Ring any bells? Grin

Seems like everyone is feeling nostalgic for childhood book memories at the moment. This doesn't ring a bell to me but I hope someone knows. Grin

Just to update that by chance I found the book title (good thing I kept my old ‘Reading Record’ book from School!). Thankfully I’d written ‘Only Binky’ by Dyan Sheldon on the last page.
Interestingly, it turns out Dyan Sheldon wrote the book that was then made into the movie ‘Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen’, with Lindsay Lohan, which is one of my guilty pleasures. Grin
