So I’m trying figure out what law is on taking from charity stores.

Firstly iv been told it’s not permitted to leave goods outside as they are actually binned as they could be contaminated for the period of time it’s left. And the charity have to pay a fee to the council for removals.

So if it’s being binned is it theft or doing them a favour?

AFAIK it's classed as theft if either the charity shop or a passer by takes the bags, and the act of leaving the bags is fly tipping.
