Shamelessly posting for traffic.

I am late 30s, work FT, married with a 4yo DC. I am very passionate about mental health provision having had my own struggles, and with the new nursing grant I'm seriously considering retraining as a mental health nurse.

I'd apply to do a part-time degree which I'd complete alongside my job. There would be some commuting.

I'm after some thoughts from people in training, practising MH nurses etc - does this sound realistic? Would you recommend it as a career? I'm diagnosed with Generalised Anxiety Disorder - well-managed with CBT and meds and I'm generally really well now - would that have an impact do you think?

This is not just a whim, it's something I've been thinking about and researching for a long time.

Please be brutal, I'd love honest opinions. Thanks in advance.
