Posting here for traffic, just spotted this on Facebook and thought I should share. Potentially contains the toxin which causes botulism.

I've never tried primula.

This is probably a bad time to think about trying it for the first time...

Is there an alternative brand, for in the meantime?

I’ve always wanted to try Primula but the thought makes me feel a bit ick!

Those who use it for dogs, how do you do that? Straight out the tube?

@Weedsnseeds1

Botulism doesn't give you a "slightly dodgy tummy" it's a neurotoxin. Blurred vision, breathing difficulties, slurred speach etc.
It's potentially life threatening and very serious. Of all the food borne illnesses you really don't want, botulism is top of the list.

Gosh yes, I do know all that, thanks - I am of average intelligence and even looked up the symptoms! - but they also include bloating, and D&V.

However, for the moment I am, thankfully, not ill. There’s still time though - I gather that it can take several days for the symptoms to appear, so I am just keeping the possibility open in the back of my mind.

Dogs? Yes. Squeeze a little bit and hold the tube at your side. The dog should lock like mad and be in the perfect heel position.

I also use it as a distraction, when he just has to have that person, that dog, that ball.

The licking action is self calming and he stops lepping round like Tigger!!

AdoptAdapt yes, you have up to about 36 hours for symptoms to appear, but as a food scientist, I can reassure you, if you had botulism, you would feel as if you were having a stroke.

Primula was classy AF in my childhood. No party buffet was complete without celery chopped in two inch chunks with a line of primula squeezed down the concave bit.

This stuff made me feel sick beforehand, now even more so!

That said, I love a cheese string!

That’s such an excellent idea. I wonder if I could adapt it for recall training....
