Anaemic and possible post viral syndrome following Covid

I have posted on the Covid board about shortness of breath and pain at my lung area. Doctor just phoned with test results and they are as above. I have worked all the way through viral symptoms from my bed - sleeping as necessary but for the last few weeks have physically gone into work but days were getting longer and longer and have had a bit of a set back. I have to have repeat bloods in a month. Doctor has suggested signing me off but I feel really awful for leaving my boss in the lurch - I am really the only person that can assist him with the work I do - otherwise he has to dictate the stuff for someone else. What do I do? Came home early today and did work from home but felt awful and could actually have cried.

Get signed off! Your boss will find a way to manage. He will also find a way to manage and not give you a second thought if you have to give up work because it turns into a long term problem. Speaking from experience, please take health seriously and take the time to recover.

YABU to continue working. You need to take time off to fully recover. Look after yourself. Your boss will have to find a way to cope without you til you’re FULLY recovered!
