Chilli jam

Sorry to post in AIBU but need quite urgent responses so I make it to Waitrose in time! I made nigellas chilli jam. Well, tried to. Made it once years ago and it worked beautifully so I thought I would do it again. But because I was being silly and in a rush, I used granulated, not jam, sugar. As Soon as I realised, I took it off the boil as It won't set.

I'd say I've made about 4-5 mugs. Google tells me I can add some pectin, but how much should I add?

The Tate and Lyle pectin sachets I have say 1 sachet per kilo of fruit - roughly how much fruit (in terms of weight) did you start with?

A sachet is 8g.

If you don't have pectin then grate an apple in or use some lemon juice has the same effect.

Get a bottle of Certo liquid pectin, tip it all back in a pan, add half the bottle, rebook, wash and resterilise the jars and repot.

Boil it up with some lemon pips wrapped in muslin

ReBOIL not rebook!

So I actually am not even at the jar stage. I just tipped in the pepper/chilli mix. I used a bag of Morrison's wonky peppers - there's no size on the pack but I'd guess that's around 500g of peppers?

Ok just checked online - they say one bag is 750g of pepper...
