To not pick up my son?

Currently wfh, DH is looking after DS whilst I work, MIL wanted to see my DS so DH dropped him down. Due to be picked up in 10 minutes. DH went out with my DD to help him buy a boat and left the car 'assuming' I would collect him. Yes I could do it but there was a family disagreement/argument and I simply don't want to see her yet, AIBU to expect DH to stick to his arrangement and pick up DS or should I suck it up and go?

No he's 15 months, I don't want to pretend to be all nice but also don't want to go in whilst in a mood, just an argument about parenting and I feel she constantly judges both mine and DSs parenting and always has an opinion. She bitches about SIL and he DPs DD so I'd be naive to think she doesn't do the same about me behind my back and just not in the mood for her

Nope, remind your DH to pick up your son. (Though frankly, he shouldn't need reminding.) It's pretty crap and passive aggressive for him leave the car, instead of just talking to you about who will pick up your son.

Sorry I Re read your post it was DH decision yep should have been him to collect as he agreed to drop off at GM House. What the hurry to collect he can pick up son after look at boat on way home

If you are working, you are working. Your DH should pick him up. If he’s late that’s his fault. Don’t get involved.

Did he ask you? Or just assume you'd pick him up?

Is he trying to engineer a situation where you are forced to make up with MIL, or is he just dumping responsibility on you?

Lol he 'assumed' I would go as he'd left the car, I told him I'm working and he would have to let his DM know he would be late, he was about 30 minutes late picking DS up, no issues. He was all nicey with me after so sometimes it pays to put my foot down
