For me, I realise after weeks in lockdown that I spent a fortune on kids clothes that they never wore, way too much and getting on fine with no new purchases!
Also, spent a fortune on make up and skin care that o am still using, makes me think I was living in a world where there was so much excessive expenditure on material thanks I did not need, will be mindful in future!

Go back to cleaning ! Other ppls not my house ... have been successful with a foot in the door job at a school job today ... so thankfully as my dry eyes were not liking cleaning can start new job in September! Applying for a Aldi job in between x

Starbuggy · 15/06/2020 19:07

I won’t go back to spending a fortune buying random food every day, especially junk at work. I’ve been lucky to have weekly grocery deliveries and apart from bread and milk it’s been fine (and I can manage without bread and milk when I run out).

I’m also not going to go back to my previously lax recycling ways. I’ve really had to step it up because I’m in a flat and our bin stores have been sealed shut during lockdown, so all rubbish had to stay in my small flat until bin day. So I’ve been rinsing packaging to recycle that I probably wouldn’t have bothered to before Blush I only fill one or one and a half black bags a fortnight now.

Superleo837 · 15/06/2020 19:09

Drinking! I had a huge wake up call when lockdown started. The first week my husband and I were drinking every night sometimes a bottle of wine EACH!!! Realised it was out of anxiety really about everything then I realised I’d been drinking for years because of a worry or something! Realised I drink a) way too much b) for any reason or excuse c) it makes me anxious. Not had anything for a month now and it’s been good

SugarStealers · 15/06/2020 19:17

Gym, swim, gym, swim that was my weekly routine. Thought I would go nuts without it. The last 12 weeks have taught me lots. I strength train at home three times a week with resistance bands. Yoga every day with the fab Down Dog App. Cycle most afternoons discovering the Shropshire countryside. Living the dream. I won’t be going back to the gym... maybe when the weather changes.

AnnaNimmity · 15/06/2020 19:19

@FelicisNox that's my philosophy - only do what makes you feel good.

For me I doubt very much whether I'll go back to working in an office.

I'll also not go back to missing meals with my family - we will carry on having our meals together, rather than rushing here and there.

I will go back to eating and drinking out. Because I miss that.

minipie · 15/06/2020 19:19

I’m the opposite. Turns out I can only motivate myself to exercise via live classes in a gym, booked into my diary, paid for. (Actually I kind of knew that already). I am never going to “fit in” exercise at home , I don’t like it enough.

Really hope gyms open soon, for the sake of my fitness...

Celestine70 · 15/06/2020 19:23

No fast fashion and less take out.

SugarStealers · 15/06/2020 19:28

Yes I agree I do miss the gym feel and I miss my gym buddies. You need to keep faith in yourself and remember what and why you’re exercising. Resistance... stretching... muscle usage.

dementedma · 15/06/2020 19:43

Being married probably

SomewhereEast · 15/06/2020 19:46

...taking my life for granted! I really didn't appreciate how good it was & can't wait to get back to it.

Lola001 · 15/06/2020 19:51

I am going to go away once a month, not abroad necessarily, even just a hour up the road with a £29 travel lodge hotel room just to get away from day-to-day life, to afford this I am going to have to buy less for the sake of buying things with 'days out' to the local city shopping and I am going to spend less money on daily supermarket trips 'just' spending a few quid and the same at work too as ill probably be working from home.

Bobbi73 · 15/06/2020 20:09

I'll not complain about my husband working away for months at a time. I love him but having him around constantly for the last few months has been tough!
Another one for the shopping. I started working out how much we spent on food in March. We used to pop into shops all the time and now we spend far less. I've also got the kids eating vegetarian food a few times a week. They won't be going back to being carnivores.
Having sedentary weekends. Like many people, we've discovered amazing nature a bike/walk away.

NecklessMumster · 15/06/2020 20:09

I'm not going back to salon hair dye or any dye, I'm going to carry on growing out the grey, I quite like the look of it but was too scared before and my hairdresser kept talking me out of it

FizzyPink · 15/06/2020 20:15

I’m very pleased that DP has decided to start giving himself a day off each week. Before lockdown he was working long hours 7 days a week and falling asleep on the sofa every evening because he was so tired.
Everything that’s happened has made him realise there’s more to life than work and having Sunday’s to spend together over the last few weeks has been so special and he’s so much happier

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 15/06/2020 20:15

@Purplealienpuke

I'm so sorry you lost your Mum Thanks

I won't ever be going back to wearing a full face of make up. My skin looks better than it ever has. I won't be going out shopping for clothes or anything really. All online. Also we, I like the peace and want to keep it. No more rush rush rush.

Mumgonenuts2020 · 15/06/2020 20:30

Online shopping especially when slots were limited, I don’t like going every day to get a few bits other!! In I didn’t realise how many toiletries I had built up over the last 6 months-prior to lockdown for all of us, we have had plenty to keep us going over the last 3 months. Macdonalds is another one, the new experience has put me off since they have opened back up, due to the limited menu, level of queues and the kids are not that bothered either. We have got used to supermarket Chicken nuggets from the supermarket and I make my own fillet o fish fruit waters in bulk and no more fruit shoots. My plastic mug with decaf coffee hot or iced! I have not bought holiday clothes for years, We have to save for new school inform for our two, as they have grown so much, I will need to order a month before they are due back. Although will they be all out of stock!! 😄

cologne4711 · 15/06/2020 20:35

Top tip: if you don't have an independent bookshop near you, you can order online with a company called hive.co.uk and nominate a bookshop to get their share of the cover price (which is generally reduced). I don't work for them; I just love the idea

We had a bookshop in our town who refused to use them, they said it didn't fit with their business model. I was so disappointed as it seemed like the ideal solution to me, order from Hive and walk into town to collect. So I carried on using Amazon. Bookshop closed down a year or so ago.

Nearly47 · 15/06/2020 20:37

Agree with you Mingmoo. Amazon convenience is so tempting but I am avoiding as much as I can. I've found a couple of independent bookshops that deliver for free and the prices are good too.

LunaNorth · 15/06/2020 20:37

Shopping as a leisure activity.

Having my hair dyed in a salon.

Hobbitytoes · 15/06/2020 20:52

Ironing so much. With kids at home and me working from home only DH needs work clothes. If he wants them ironed he can crack on!! After 3 months I've realised my hair isn't really that grey so could have saved a fortune at the salon Grin. Lockdown has also shown me that I have no life, no friends, no hobbies Sad

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 15/06/2020 21:05

Working. I've retired.

dementedma are you OK?

cleanasawhistle · 15/06/2020 21:06

I am not going back to doing favours for friends and constant lifts for those that don't dive.
Had a bad accident a few weeks before lockdown and not heard from the most demanding of my friends, lets say if schools go back in September she will be stuck, not my problem.

Not going back to the constant spending, worked out we can manage without many things.

cleanasawhistle · 15/06/2020 21:07

underneaththeash · 15/06/2020 21:10
