Are cafés that sell wine open these days or not?
I'm a little confused as to what's open or not?
Fancy sitting in sun having a glass of vino outside a cafe later...

No

GalwayGrowl · 14/06/2020 14:19

No.

Possibility of beer gardens reopening in July.

GimmeAy · 14/06/2020 14:34

Oh well - that's a shame

I could have sworn I saw a cafe open in nearby town earlier in the week. There were certainly 2 people sitting at a table outside something.
Are cafes selling food only open then or am I imagining things?

Cafes and a few bars are open where I am for takeaway service and have been for weeks.

GimmeAy · 14/06/2020 14:45

Ye I saw a pub open for takeaway beer with plastic glasses near the Royal London last week - thought I was seeing things for a minute Shock

They had no seats outside or anything, so I'm not sure what the people were going to do - walk along the street with their beers or something?

Only for takeaway at the moment. Maybe from 4 July.

HelloViroids · 14/06/2020 15:06

Definitely pubs in London open for takeaways beers etc and people sitting on nearby benches/in local squares etc with the beers. Don’t know what anyone’s doing about the loo!

LordEmsworth · 14/06/2020 15:38

There are some cafes with outdoor seating in my town that have opened for customers to sit outside. Mostly though, pubs are doing takeaways and people are going to sit in the park...

GimmeAy · 14/06/2020 17:09

Such a lovely evening - are you allowed to go and sit in the park with a couple of beers or some wine?

OP posts:
milienhaus · 14/06/2020 17:10

Yes you are allowed to sit in the park as long as you’re 2m away from people you don’t live with.

GimmeAy · 14/06/2020 17:11

I guess I'll wait another few weeks. So bloody sick of lockdown now.

A cafe near us has seating outside but it’s for people waiting for their orders and is spaced out to allow social distancing.
