To ask you to recommend a hoover - me and dd have long hair. No pets.

Just that really - please recommend a vacuum cleaner. Long haired family with no pets.

Mixture of carpet and hard floors.

My dyson has died and don't fancy getting another one.

Looking at a shark model but confused as to which one.

Any recommendations welcome.

I’m looking for the same thing. Three long haired people in our house. I even wondered about getting a rubber brush to use before hoovering but double the effort isn’t doing it for me!

I have the Shark one for hair. ( I also have pets) and its fabulous. Has a switch for hard floors too.
Only issue is that it needs emptied a lot, as its quite small, but maybe I just have dirty carpets...
But then I have 3 dogs. My daughter has the same one and she also loves it.

I know you said no Dyson, but have you tried the V11 Absolute? It really is phenomenal. I have long hair, 1 4yo dc and 6 cats, living in the Middle East, so also lots of sand/dust to tackle multiple times a day, on a daily basis. It's brilliant and worth every single penny.

My second choice would be the Miele C3 cat and dog powerline.

I’ve just got the Shark IZ251UKT and it’s superb. It’s the latest version of their cordless vacuum. You can use it upright or handheld. Works a treat on hair (human or pet!)

I have the Shark liftaway and it’s great. Settings for both carpet and hard floors which is ideal!

I had a shark anti hair wrap powered liftaway arrive yesterday and it is great.
I love the way I can do the stairs.

I’ve been wondering the same. Had it with Dyson. I bought a Dyson Cinetic Big Ball after being impressed with the Animal upright that gave up after years. It is clunky, doesn’t “glide” around and is really heavy. Our cordless is on its way out so it might be time to get new. Will look at the Shark.

Is long hair very bad for hoovers? All the heads of my Henry have lost all suction and seem blocked and I wonder if it’s due to my hair.

I bought the Shark Lift - Away Duoclean Anti HairWrap Technology model number NZ801UKT. Absolutely OUTSTANDING on dust, fibres and hair. I've now got 3 Dyson's doing nothing as they just CAN'T compare!

My friend swore by her Dyson so we did a test she hoovered her front room then I went over it with my shark which had a clean drum and the amount of hair from her dog that come up filled the drum half way, a week later she had the same shark as me and now loves it. The lift away is perfect for the stairs especially as I love in a 3 storey house it makes it so much easier I would never go back it a Dyson

Another vote for the shark anti-hair wrap cordless. It's really powerful and effective and have been so pleased with mine.
