Flight refund from Lastminute.com

I have booked return flights for a family of 5 to travel at the end of July 2020. Given the current situation I requested a refund from last minute and they have offered me just over £500 less than what I paid. I appreciate that there will be handling fees but £500 seems excessive. Has anyone had experience of flight refunds with last minute? Does this seem reasonable?

That's not acceptable. How much in total did you get back?

WisestIsShe · 13/06/2020 13:52

Is the flight actually cancelled? If so they have to fully refund. If you are cancelling because you don't want to go then you need to check their t's and C's to see how much you lose.

You are cancelling your flights so they are not legally obliged to refund you anything.

You cancelling is very different to them or the airline cancelling

PolkaDotsPolka · 13/06/2020 13:55

If you are choosing to cancel then they don't need to refund you anything unfortunately.

Thanks for all the responses. We paid £3053 and they have offered to refund £2530. I was initially really pleased but my husband thinks we should wait for the flight to be cancelled as we might get a higher refund. I’m worried that the flight won’t get cancelled and the 14 day quarantine rule will mean we can’t go anyway. The terms and conditions from last minute indicated a £30 handling fee per person, per flight (outgoing and incoming).

HI All. Jumping on this thread for help please. I booked flights from Stansted to Bergerac with Jet2 via lastminute.com website. Now I cannot login to check in for my flights ( should be able to do so as it is only 5 days until flight, Jet2 allow check in 14 days before). Got through to Jet2 on the phone who said I need to talk to lastminute.com as the booking has been cancelled.however I haven't heard this or anything at all from lastminute.com. And I cannot get through to lastminute.com on the phone and there are no email addresses. The website just sends me round in circles. Help!! Any advice on what to do gratefully received.
Obviously bitterly regretting booking thru lastminute.com - will never make thst mistake again!!
