I know I used to really struggle with sweating and keeping fresh at work (combination of stress and not finding the right deodorant). I’ve resolved it now but I’m feeling really embarrassed about what people thought of me at my previous job (where I made some good friends). I’m now cringing that they were all talking behind my back and that I used to make the office smell bad sad

If they were actually good friends they wouldn't have been talking behind your back.

Onwards and upwards. Don't keep beating yourself up for something that happened in the past. Everyone has something they cringe about.

Thanks for your kind message.

If you were aware of sweating etc, you won’t have smelled so much that your colleagues could tell. Even if you’d had a hot day in the office with an ineffectual antiperspirant, you’d have showered in the morning and have only smelled of fresh sweat.
I’ve occasionally noticed a colleague having an “off” day. I wouldn’t have thought or said anything about it. We are all human.

I know your sorted now but Ooo let me give you a tip which is most unusual but actually makes sense 🙂 after shower dry your self as u would and instead of deodorant use sudo creme it's like a miracle which I just tried one day and never looked back. Also same as pp if they were your friends they would have pulled u to the side or chucked u there deodorant under the table friends don't laugh they help. Well my friends do laugh at me but ditto to them 🤣 x

Thanks for your comments. Wish I’d sussed it sooner but guess that’s just life :)

Sudocrem as deodorant?? I'll have to try that.

Have you posted this before? Sounds a bit familiar.

I know it’s easier said than done but try not to dwell on it. I really doubt it was as bad as you think, but the important thing is decent and kind people wouldn’t have judged you for it and wouldn’t have gossiped about it. It’s definitely not worth thinking about it now, I promise you they certainly aren’t!
