Who will be protesting and which city will you go to?

OP posts:
Samcro · 12/06/2020 16:16

is the lockdown over?

lemmathelemmin · 12/06/2020 16:17

No, because I believe that this will make things worse for black people. This will only create divisions between people.

Laaalaaaa · 12/06/2020 16:18

No, there’s this thing going on in the world resulting in a lockdown and requiring you to maintain a distance of 2 meters. I’m adhering to this.

Lordamighty · 12/06/2020 16:22

No, because it is against the law to congregate in large groups. I’ve barely seen my family over the lockdown, not seen friends at all & I’m wondering why I bothered to stick to the rules when others are prepared to ignore them.

reinacorriendo · 12/06/2020 16:25

Think there’s a pandemic going on in the world at the moment or some shit where we are meant to be following rules of not gathering in groups of more then 6, staying 2M apart, not using public transport Willie nillie, washing hands frequently, staying alert, saving lives etc, been going on for a little while now, unless I missed Chris Whitty telling us we could all go out huddle together and lick the Lampposts. I’ll be doing that special thing though called staying at home this weekend

vonny63 · 12/06/2020 16:28

The protest in London has been called off. I was never going to attend due to COVID. Setting up grassroots interventions and provide practical cultural support to local people to protect them from COVID is far more pressing.

ChestyNut · 12/06/2020 16:54

No because we’re in the middle of a pandemic and large gatherings are against the law......

MaMaLa321 · 12/06/2020 16:57

no, because I'm not a self-righteous idiot who thinks that the purity of their cause makes them immune to Covid.

MaMaLa321 · 12/06/2020 16:58

...and I, too, believe that this will makes things worse.

CoronaIsComing · 12/06/2020 17:08

No because I want my child to go back to school at some point this year and idiot protestors will be spreading COVID and putting the dates back even further 😡

Endless11 · 12/06/2020 17:11

No - I would have gone to the big one in London last Saturday had it not been for the virus.

sunglasses123 · 12/06/2020 17:15

I think the people crowding into cities are stupid and selfish. They then go back to their families. Do they really think because their protest was worthy that they will somehow be immune.

Selfish twats. We might end up with the spike in infections no thanks to them!

DanniArthur · 12/06/2020 17:23

I'm not willing to risk going in to Glasgow, despite the majority of people adhering social distancing and wearing face masks last week. There's a couple things on social media I've done to show support and I've made a donation but wouldnt risk attending a protest atm

Zoomintheroom · 12/06/2020 18:31

No because there's this thing called covid 19 going around. Hmm

TitianaTitsling · 12/06/2020 18:35

No, because well lockdown, covid- although l am hoping if there is no spike then we can get back to fucking normal before they start this ridiculous 'blended learning' shite.

OneForMeToo · 12/06/2020 18:40

Nope because Covid.

chocolatespiders · 12/06/2020 18:41

I would if it wasnt for covid. Interested to know about future ones - where are they posted?

FiveFootTwoEyesOfBlue · 12/06/2020 18:43

I don't think MN is the prime demographic, to be honest. Much more likely to be idealistic (and bored) teens and twenty-somethings, who also think they're invincible. If all the usual festivals and club nights and parties were happening I don't think the protests would be nearly as big in the UK. (Different in the US.)

isadoradancing123 · 12/06/2020 19:21

This is going to cause more trouble and set black against white. Britain’s history is atrocious, including the irish famine, but i thought that the objective of the peace process in N orthern Ireland Was to try and move on from that, should we not be doing the same regarding the slavery

heartsonacake · 12/06/2020 19:45

Of course not. You know there’s a pandemic going on, right?

ekidmxcl · 12/06/2020 19:50

The prime minister has told people not to do this.
He is elected, not by me, but nevertheless he is in charge.

MorganKitten · 12/06/2020 19:53

I hope all those who went to the seaside and gathered in groups for VE Day are included in your selfish twats?
Livelovebehappy · 12/06/2020 19:53

🙄

JRUIN · 12/06/2020 19:57

Against what?

MistressGammon · 12/06/2020 20:01

So nice to finally read some common sense.
