What is this summer catch up BJ speaks of?

I see BJ and his gang have left us all in anticipation over a catch up programme over the summer for all children. After 3 months of this hell of home schooling I for one , will not be doing any catch up work. The final day of term has been mine and my childrens light at the end of this shit show of a tunnel.

Besides, I do not believe BJ and his pals could organise a piss up in a brewery so it will be a disaster. I read they hadn't even asked the teaching unions so who exactly do they think will be staffing this pie in a sky idea.

I suppose they could use the big empty nightingale hospitals that cost ££££. Maybe just chuck one of their oh so clever scientists in to teach the kids .

What a load of bullshit. They really do think their slinging us all a bone.

How about they spend the time ensuring schools can take children back in september instead? Because we all know that as things stand that wont happen either.

They haven’t asked teachers, they haven’t asked heads (well maybe a couple of MAT CEO mates?) and they haven’t asked unions-I doubt it will even happen.

If they hadn’t built the nightingale hospitals, you’d have been frothing but now they did and they are empty, you’re still frothing. Nice left wing logic there. Standard.

Not sure it will happen as some schools have already planned to continue to support key worker's kids. I think that is still going ahead, though I haven't spoken to DSis since last week!

I don't think the scientists are to blame for this, it's a purely poliical decison, one they hoped would make some people happy. Problem was they didn't consult and it doesn't agree with the scientific view!

As for September, as far as DSis (she's AHT in a rural primary), their HT is e-meeting and discussing options every day! Schools are working on it as information comes in. I would guess it will be them, probably individually, not the government that come up with a workable solution! Like most business owners are having to!

Bloody hard work for teachers who have worked all through this. They will continue to work whislt also re-planning next year to fit whatever gets decided. If they plan too early the situation will change; if they plan too late they will be rushed!

I am glad it's no longer me, but am angry for my ex colleagues, friends and family! And that's before I even thimk of the kids themselves!

Another way to make sure everyone still hates teachers when whatever bizarre plan they come up with on the napkin to hand at lunch can't come to fruition.

Like many I am counting down the next 5 weeks, after the hardest 12 weeks of my teaching career. I love my job, I am missing my students but teaching secondary competently needs me to be with the students, to pick up on the cues you get when they are struggling, not completely understanding a concept. I will happily support key worker provision if it is needed.
