Asking for money owed

I lent someone money about 18 months ago.

We agreed a repayment deadline (about 18 months to go), however as we're no longer on speaking terms, I'd really like my money back ASAP.

AIBU for asking for it back now? Or should I wait?
We signed a contract so there's no worry there.

I'd say that's unreasonable and probably unenforceable. You should stick to what you agreed.

You can’t change the terms just because you feel like it.

Your contract is there for a reason. You can’t just change your mind, in the same way the other party cannot

I think it's fine to contact the and ask. It's not fine to demand or put pressure.

Are they making regular payments or it this a deferred loan?
