TLDR should Amazon Prime have ludicrously unfunny 80's black-face comedy Soul Man?

I was just discussing Little Britain being removed from various platforms with DC and somehow got onto discussing 'Soul Man' - the 80s comedy with them. I told them a story about how I was essentially ostracised from my entire friendship group aged 13 for stating that the film was racist (I am mixed race). I was actually taken home from a sleepover at 11.30pm for refusing to back down when confronted by a parent who said I was being 'ridiculous' and it was 'a pro coloureds film, you just don't understand it'.

My closing comments to DC were "I wonder what happened to that film, I bet they burned them all along with Songs of the South"

So I was a little taken aback when 5 mins later DS bounded in and showed me it was available on Amazon Prime, and had a 4 star rating! We watched it immediately and yes, it is really horrifically racist, terrible. Rotten Tomatoes has a rating of 13% and a far more accurate set of reviews!

IABU to think that this is not acceptable in 2020 and it should be removed?

It was cringe in the 80's and totally unacceptable now. Get this rubbish burned .

It was shit in the eighties and as a very unworldly teenager in the sticks even I knew it was hideously racist, can't believe it still exists.

This still holds the record of being the worst film I've ever had the misfortune to watch. Ghastly.

Jeff Bezos and his company are utter hypocrites.
They sell the notorious "little black sambo" too. That was banned by my Primary School in 1979 after DM complained!

I suspect that this will make you angry but IMHO Jeff Bezos et al are not hypocrites.

They are people/company that will sell anything to anybody regardless of race, creed, colour or religious belief etc. they are just wealthy Del boys out to make more money.

This does not meant that I think that they are right, but in the end they would sell their own grandmother to make a buck.
