I'm struggling...

My 19 month old now has a LOT of screen time

He sees no other children

He's back to breastfeeding round the clock

He's bored and cranky and I don't have the energy to entertain all day 7 days a week

I'm getting no work done

I'm exhausted

I feel like a shit mum

I'm not alone am I?

Bump. I can't stop crying!

Nope. Mine is almost 18 months. Exact the same, except I am a sahm. I am also heavily pregnant and I've had enough. I am exhausted and feel so guilty.
We'll get through this!

Yesterday was just shit here. My little one smashed my husband's nose in by accident. Blood everywhere. And that was 6.30am. We'd all had enough by 7pm bedtime and went to bed straight after our son!

You're not a shit Mum. You're a Mum in a truly shit situation. And it's hard enough at the best of times with little ones that age.

Not alone I've got a 8 and 5 year old plus 7 months pregnant and have severe sciatica. My kids have kindles far too much, dinner times are shit, partner works 8 till 5 everyday. Mum guilt is major atm

But we are strong and this shall pass

I have no help at all and no number of cuddles have cheered him up today. He's so miserable.

Nope, my 2 year old is the same. Feeding pretty much like a newborn, totally addicted to the screen, whatever gets us through x

I'm so worried about how much I stick him in front of the tv but I can't not do my work. Worried he's going to be addicted to it.

I think there are times when a bloody good cry and "woe is me" is the best medicine in all the world. Give yourself a break.

I am good at giving advice but not necessarily taking it as part of my job is holding it all together even though my life at the moment is probably the most dire and shite it has ever been. But that said, I can and I DO recommend exercise.

Can you take your little one for a walk in your lunch hour or just after you finish work? Walking is one of the best things for you when you are mentally and physically exhausted. I don't know what it is but it does work.

You are doing great in these peculiar times and remember, you might remember these times but your little one won't. Look after yourself.

It sounds like there are a lot of us in the same boat right now. We all need to give ourselves a break!
I hope all these comments have made you feel better. I certainly have a tendency to assume everyone is doing all this great stuff, but in reality we are all just getting through. I second the comment about exercise. We have a daily walk in a local park and it's really helpful. It tires the little bugger out too, which means a guarantee of a nap in the afternoon!
What I wouldn't give for a Martini right now!!

I totally feel for you. my nearly 3yo has got clingier and clingier as lockdown has progressed. I'm trying to work or home school my reluctant 6yo and she's desperate to play with me. I hate letting her down, it shouldn't be like this.

What do you do for childcare usually? dd2 is back at the childminder now thank God.
