admittedly, ive only been a member for a few months, but i have come to this conclusion. take today for instance. the main topic of conversation on this section is; parents of 5 year olds worried about which senior school to go to? on that thread is the biggest bore & snob you will ever have the misfortune to meet. this popular thread is closely followed by mums worried about whats in their kids packed lunch? mums get a life! im off for a fag.

Talulasmum, here is my recommendation. if you want to stick around, you are welcome, just namechange so you can draw a line under this embarrassing episode. and don't use 'mum' etc in your name, but that is just me.

there are lots of mums of all descriptions on here. if a thread title seems 'fecking boring', i don't click on it. simple.

if otoh you are leaving, then its a moot point, why prolong the torture.

jeremyvile if its so tedious why are you back on it?

3andnomore · 24/09/2007 16:21

I think I just found the thread talula talked about....and don't looks like it was opened just because of her...
this

Lorayn · 24/09/2007 16:26

surely thats not what she is talking about????
her name is mentioned twice, and it seems that the being called 'sensible' was more of the problem than the person saying it!!!

SenoraPostrophe · 24/09/2007 16:27

ace thread. nice to have a punch up every now and then isn't it?

as to the question of whether mumsnet is full of middle class bores - I couldn't possibly comment as I have to go and collect Tarquin from his Greek classes and take him to a piano recital. Hopefully by the time he's 4 he'll be able to walk from the one to the other, but until then, ciao darlings!

Trinityrhino · 24/09/2007 16:31

haven't read the thread, sound alot like someone trying top styart a fight and I bet it kicked off
but I am totally addicted to this site and I couldn't be further from a middle class bore.

I've just had a pot noodle and a chicken tikka sandwich
I'm off for a fag now and a glass of iron brew with ice.

I don't like to pidgeon hole people or myself but I am difinitely not the stereotypical middle class bore.

I would also not class myself and common
I am a person who hates spiders, loves friends, can't cope with watching the news, loves to cosleep with gecko, smokes, has ishooos sorrounding sex and lives with massive amounts of guilt aropund how I look after my children.

SenoraPostrophe · 24/09/2007 16:31

apols to anyone who has a son called tarquin btw. I think it's a lovely name.

SenoraPostrophe · 24/09/2007 16:33

lol at your class indicators, TR. do commoners like spiders then?

zookeeper · 24/09/2007 16:33

usual bitches spouting crap and mutually back slapping.

Yawn

zookeeper · 24/09/2007 16:33

you know who you are

ComeOVeneer · 24/09/2007 16:34

And who exactly are "the usual bitches", zookeeper?

Trinityrhino · 24/09/2007 16:35

lol no senora
I was trying to say that I don't really think you can dump people into a certain class but there is a stereotypical middle class and a stereotypical common.

I do things from both of those stereotypes and don't think I fit into any certain catergory.
Saying what I was was me trying to say that I do loads of things that make me ME.
And that is who I am.

lissielou · 24/09/2007 16:41

as the person who started that thread i will say that most days there is a teashop. it has NEVER been opened because of another thread and its laughable to think otherwise.

omg what a thread, so long !! To quote Alanon/AA (not sure that I'm allowed to?) which is basically peer support for people in simular situation like mumsnet. Basically being a parent is bloody hard work and it's nice to be able to visit somewhere and feel that other people are going through the same thing, anyway the quote.....

"Take what you want you want and leave the rest"

2mum · 24/09/2007 16:54

Talulas mum did you do the chav test? I havent done the class test yet!

hunkermunker · 24/09/2007 16:54

Ah, ZK, predictable as ever. Can you pat your chip for me, please? The one on your right shoulder.

MrsFogi · 24/09/2007 16:55

Marvellous, class war breaks out on mn! I've popped the hamper in the back of my 4x4, am off to find a good parking space on the sidelines of mn and am looking forward to spending a delightful evening sitting in the boot watching the action and I think I may even treat myself to a perfectly mixed Pimms as we're still in September.
I failed the chav test as I'm afraid I couldn't answer some of the questions as I didn't "get" them (people I hadn't heard of etc) but that would be because I'm a middle class bore who doesn't watch enough television.

2mum · 24/09/2007 16:57

littlelapin could you do a rundown of whats happened since last night for the people who are just on

2mum · 24/09/2007 16:58

MrsFogi im looking for people who got more than 64%. I cant possibly be the biggest chav on mumsnet!
