Not an AIBU. Velux Blinds Advice

Just completed an extension with velux windows in the pitched roof.

I want to get blinds for them but they're out of reach. Does anyone have high (8/9ft off the floor) velux windows? How do you open and close the blinds?

We've got a pole to open and close the windows, wondering if they make blinds with this same idea. Searched online but it's a minefield of options and suppliers.

I got Velux blinds designed to go with Velux windows in my bedroom. I'm tall enough to open the one in the pitched roof by standing on my toes, but other family members stand on the bed to reach. I think they do have options such as a stick you can use.

I got black-out blinds in white, they are incredibly effective. (They had a whole range of colours, but my reasoning for choosing plain white is that I would almost never see the blind, as it would only be closed when I was in the darkened room!)

When I got my blinds, they were a replacement for some non-Velux ones the previous owner had left behind. They definitely offered a pole/stick of some sort as an option. This was quite a few years ago though. I'm pretty sure there were other options as well, just can't remember what they are. Wouldn't be surprised if there was an electric option nowadays.

You know there’s a chat forum with an equal amount of traffic, right?

You can get a little attachment to the pole that pulls down the blind.

Electric velux blinds and windows. Open and close with the press of a button.

They do solar powered Velux blinds now so if you haven’t got a power supply near the windows I think the solar ones would probably work well?
