I just came across her book, 'Very Good Lives' which is all about overcoming adversity. I think it's so important that successful women talk about the times they've failed and how success is about pushing past that. I'm reading it just at a time I need to hear that message. I can definitely recommend buying a copy if you are in need of a boost or have some pennies to spend on something nourishing.

I was also looking into her charity, Lumos, and I had no idea just how much she was trying to help disadvantaged children. I love that she's putting her money and position to good use.

The term 'national treasure' generally makes me want to poke my own eyeballs out with a rusty kitchen utensil but AIBU to say she is an utter treasure and we are lucky to have her. She makes the world a better place.

She’s great. I share her views on sex and gender. She’s intelligent and strong.

But like all people she is multi-faceted and using her huge platform of followers to promote ideas which endanger the lives and wellbeing of trans people is pretty disgusting. And her timing in doing so was staggeringly wrong

LOL on the timing thing. When is the right time for women to talk about women's rights? Because I'm thinking the answer is 'never'.

Whenever women try to speak up about their rights, they are told, "Not now because there are more pressing issues" (racism/class oppression/homophobia and now transphobia). Women are constantly told to pipe down and put someone else's needs first. Fuck that.

If women had listened to everyone telling us "Not now", we wouldn't have the vote, abortion rights, equal pay or any other sex-based rights. All those were won by women who refused to be told that someone else's rights were more important than their own.

I've multitudes of biology textbooks, all different ones. By the definition of some on twitter, every single one of them is transphobic.

I shall burn them all.

She's fabulous. One of the few women brave enough to stick her head above the parapet and deal with the transactivists head on. I have so much admiration for her and am so thankful for her to speak out on this issue.

I love the notion that sex isn't binary - if it isn't then how would you know how to reproduce? Surely two biological ben or two biological women could just get together and have a child without any help from anyone else?!

I get rather perturbed when TRA's call women misogynists and accuse them of somehow supporting violence against women when they also cheer on the vile creatures in the TRA movement who make actual threats against women and fantasise about raping and killing us.

I also do the eyebrow raise thing when they even raise the topic of violence against women because they rarely do this unless they are castigating a woman who has somehow allegedly supported this. Otherwise, I've not seen them give a flying fuck about violence against women.

Some examples of sexes that don't conform to normative categorisation:

• Individuals attributed with MRHK syndrome
• individuals attributed with PMDS syndrome
• individuals who are intersex.

I understand that amongst this group, my beliefs in trans rights will still sadly be largely argued with. I just wanted to enlighten you to that fact that biologically there are nuances, and that if you identify as a woman but do not menustrate, that doesn't in my eyes and the eyes of many other individuals mean you are not a woman.
