I’ve just joined Instagram as I do a craft and I wanted to post pics for my craft group to see and to follow similar accounts to get some ideas. I’ve been on a week and have had about 20 random women follow me. They’re all selling some MLM shit. Coffee, syrups, weird fragrances, juice etc. They’re all posting utterly shit pictures with fluffy background and the ‘ask me how’ wank.

I am maybe stupid but I can’t believe how many woman are doing this. It’s clearly not making them money.

I don’t know what I want from this thread - I’m just shocked that there’s so many.

None of my posts suggest I might be a good mark - it’s just pics of my craft.

It’s made me oddly angry.

I suppose it feels disingenuous. They’re not following me because they want to look at my blankets, they think I might by some shit off them.

I think it’s a terrible way to make money.

I've noticed if I start following one hashtag withing a day I'll get loads of requests from random pages or people too. Im just used to ignoring but can imagine if you've just joined up it's frustrating

They're trying to make money by flogging over priced crap and snake oil to their mates (who are probably struggling financially at the moment, to add to the immorality of it). Sad thing is, they won't make money and will lose friends over it.
