AIBU to consider burning my house down? (Light-hearted)

Spilled a whole bottle of Zoflora on a wooden kitchen surface yesterday. Thought I had pretty much cleaned it up.

Got up this morning and the smell was overpowering. Full day with windows open and it’s like some kind of fucking Harry Potter magic potion, bubbling away and getting more powerful and evil by the second.

Is my only option to burn the place?

That stuff is full of carcinogenic stuff.

I can't believe how many people use it.

MrsJamin · 07/06/2020 16:59

I was in a fire as a child, how utterly callous of you to think this is a joking matter.

mrnimmanimma · 07/06/2020 17:01

@mrsjamin

She said lighthearted in the title. Sorry that you had what must have been a difficult experience but raging at the OP is not going to make yourself feel better.

madcatladyforever · 07/06/2020 17:06

Oh come on it wasn't meant as offensive, everyone says it with regards to mess/spiders and so on. If we had to think abut every single thing we said we'd never ever speak!! I'm sorry you were hurt but this post is not offensive.

BankofNook · 07/06/2020 17:09

I was in a house fire as an adult, I found it funny.

Zoflora is flammable, OP. One match should do it.

mrnimmanimma · 07/06/2020 17:13

@bankofnook

Maybe that's why she hasn't been back Confused

Andpiglettoo · 07/06/2020 17:18

So it’s carcinogenic and flammable - mmm not really feeling better about my options.

But first find a massive spider, put it in your kitchen and then you would have real reason to torch the place, the Zoflo will just help it along a little alot

Good luck 🤣

Lordfrontpaw · 07/06/2020 17:22

Was the flooring ok?

shouldisay · 07/06/2020 17:24

It pains me that we now have to state light hearted in a title when the post was obviously meant to be that way. Ffs. What the actual fuck is the world coming to.

OP, you may be right but while your burning the house down because of the zoflora which will now be there for evermore, make sure you get all the mahoosive spiders and moths too.

Andpiglettoo · 07/06/2020 17:29

It is a bit untidy and there are a couple of cobwebs. It does seem like a reasonable option.

@Andpiglettoo

Glad you're alive Smile

JustC · 07/06/2020 17:51

Lol. But also, vinegar might help drive away the smell. Yes, it will smell of vinegar initially, but that one aors out quickly.

JustC · 07/06/2020 17:54

MrsJasmin, I spilled flaming oil on myself as a child, and nearly started a house fire, she did say it was light harted right in the thread title.

Andpiglettoo · 07/06/2020 18:04

Vinegar would be preferable and a great excuse to make chips.

Perhaps I should pitch a tent in the garden, the dog has already decamped.

Does anyone know whether the half-life of Zoflora is greater or less than that of uranium?

Me too. It's like people are actively on the lookout for something to be offended by. I'm sorry about that poster's experience but you don't get to police what people say because of it.

LesbianMummies · 07/06/2020 18:08

I don’t think fire will help, it will just spread the zoflora smell to the rest of the neighbourhood. I’m afraid your only option is to move, far far away.

harriethoyle · 07/06/2020 18:10

BURN THE SPIDERS WITH FIRE 🔥🔥🔥🔥

LesbianMummies

Agreed. At least the house will smell nice for all the viewings...!

Andpiglettoo · 07/06/2020 18:16

LesbianMummies - would fleeing the smell of zoflora be considered essential travel?

Perhaps I should flee to my second home.
