And then compared it to the blm protests.

I am typically "over sesnitive" but there is not way this isn't racist is it?

I'm starting to fear friend shares these views but secretly.

Aibu or is that a racist pic?

However I don’t think you should necessarily write off your friend.
You can’t choose your relatives...

But you can choose your friends.....Wink

He's posted a photo of monkeys on a car and compared them to black lives matters protests and you actually have to ASK if it's racist??

This. I don't understand how you have to ask on the internet about this. I'd message friend to find out what she thinks, as PP suggests.

Vile.
Sadly I'm sure he won't be the only thick twat who has thought of it.

porpoises
I guess it’s white privilege that I am shocked and horrified that such a specific rule has to exist..

I’d actually screenshot with his username visible and send to the police as a hate crime.

He’s had decades to understand and be decent, you’re not here to teach him how to be human.

Seriously, report him.

I think a member of my late husband’s family who is from South Africa posted the same photo or very similar juxtaposed with a picture of a riot in a black township some years ago. I am sorry to say that although I reported it Facebook deemed it did not breach their standards 😢

Well as he's posted it in relation BLM then of course it's bloody racist.
I don't necessarily agree with the comment about reconsidering your friendship. It's hardl y your friends fault if her dad a despicable racist.

That is disgustingly awful and of course it is racist. Please report him to the police and his employers and indeed as many people as possible.
Did you comment on his FB page that you are disgusted? If not, it proves the saying that evil prevails when righteous men do nothing. If you did, well done and if you didn't, don't be weak. Say how dreadful it is and you may well encourage others to say the same.

Your friend can't help it if her dad is racist. My gran was massively racist, doesn't mean that her kids are/were and some of the grandkids are mixed, so they certainly aren't.

How horrible and deeply embarrassing for your friend. I hope there are many complaints. What a nasty man! Condemn him thoroughly.

Of course she didn't because she had to check with Mumsnet first that a blatantly in-your-face completely racist post, was actually racist.

Jesus, no wonder so many black people despair.

Of course it's racist. How did you discover his page? How well do you know him? I certainly think you need to find out your friend 's view. If she defends it I'd imagine you'd be reevaluating your relationship with her.

PLEASE read the OP.

She's not asking if the father is racist, that's obvious, she's asking if her friend is.

She is asking if the father is racist. I suspect she just wants a rant though and don't blame her.

How disingenuous. No one needs to ask if that’s racist 🙄

Fucking disgusting. And I would tell him so too. The more they get away with, the more they’ll do it

'Brave'🙄 of him. If that pic ends up screenshotted and sent around FB he'll be outed. Worse if it's forwarded to certain parts of Twitter, they are ruthless on finding and outing people and they won't care if he complains about it either. Look how many people have lost jobs or had bad reviews on their business pages, for putting up racist comments and memes. I hope he does get caught out. I don't see how anyone here can decide if your friend is or isn't racist, however.
