To think how much we need the human touch

I haven't had a hug in years, simply put I don't have anybody to hug.
Now we are in the days of covid there is simply no human contact, you don't get that accident touch of hands as you pass a bag of shopping over or a colleague putting their hand on your arm as you chat, there is just nothing as everybody goes out of the way to avoid any contact.
I hadn't realised until now just how much I missed even the slightest bit of physical contact. Just a handhold or a hand on your arm when chatting or just anything. It's awful. I say that as somebody who isn't a touchy feely person at all and avoid it myself. I think society will never go back to how it was before where people had small amounts of physical contact in day to day life and that's going to be really bad for us.

I am beginning to realise that I am becoming quite depressed as a result of the lack of physical contact. I am, generally a tactile person.

I don't know what to suggest. But I do understand what you are experiencing.

It's horrible isn't it? Just the thought that there may not be physical contact ever again for some of us.

Honestly I mean this if you are local to me and not shielding I will come and give you a hug??
Physical contact is an absolute human need Sad

It is a need, but one that can't be met for many of us now. I am normally glad to be single but now I can't remember the last time anybody touched me in any way shape or form, it must be like it for others. Normally it doesn't bother me but it must be insurmountable for some.
