Can I ask you all what you hobby is? I'm looking for something to get me out the house maybe one night a week once lock down is over. Grin

Not really one for getting out of the house but i do cross stitch. Done it off and on since forever but picked it back up while furloughed on lockdown. Helps pass the time and keeps the brain cells going!

@ScottishStottie that's lovely, looks like a tapestry!

RunningNinja79 · 05/06/2020 22:44

Running

Don't need to commit to a team, but in normal times clubs are there if the fancy takes people.

Dont do much else

Megan2018 · 05/06/2020 22:44

@BarbaraofSeville I bet!

The horse costs a good £7k a year when she manages to not hurt herself. More when she does. My vet lives in the village and has a much larger house and a very shiny range rover Hmm

I’ve spent every Christmas morning for as long as I can remember mucking out and have cried so many tears over all the worry.
Wouldn’t change it for the world but bugger me I do sometimes wish I’d a passion for knitting instead Smile

HappydaysArehere · 05/06/2020 22:44

I draw and paint. Can be totally absorbing and there are lots of groups where like minded people can paint together and socialise. Visits to galleries etc can extend your interest.

YouAndMeAndTheDevilMakesThree · 05/06/2020 22:47

@BikeRunSki

Cycling MN hates me

I’m also a Cub leader, and hace fine photography and conversational French evening classes in the past. Like a swim and a run too.

Video gaming. MN hates me more!

Travelling, or at least it was....Sad

DipseeDaisey · 05/06/2020 23:16

Thanks everyone for the ideas, I suppose what the real question should have been was...What hobby can I take up that means I need to take a whole day out of the house every weekend with out fail so I can get some "me" time....a bit like DP does Angry

FangsForTheMemory · 05/06/2020 23:18

Hiking. I go for long walks on my own and adore it. I combine it with photography of wild flowers.

Laaalaaaa · 05/06/2020 23:18

It’s far too outing - I can’t tell you.

DipseeDaisey · 05/06/2020 23:21

@Laaalaaaa ....Oooohhhhh Go on....

Colom · 05/06/2020 23:24

I write - and take myself off to the library to do so if I need a break from everything DCs and DH

I'd love to get into sailing and I've always wanted to make horse riding a hobby but I think those ships have sailed (excuse the pun Grin)

SkeletonSkins · 05/06/2020 23:27

I train dogs and go to competitions with them. This normally takes up a lot of my spare time!

I swim (obviously not right now)

I go for long walks from the AllTrails app

I also cross-stitch and do jigsaws but they’re obviously in the house.

Cycling. That’s a solid morning both days on the weekend at least if you join a club.

Climbing is great fun, and will definitely get you a day out of the house Smile

Reythemamajedi · 06/06/2020 00:02

Yoga, hiking, cycling, birdwatching, cooking, reading.

Becca8675309 · 06/06/2020 00:11

Ballet for adults. Can do multiple classes followed by coffee, also one day workshops, also masterclasses that once travelled to studio and had lunch and mooched round a ballet shop or go to a matinee ballet after, can easily take a whole day!

MrsAvocet · 06/06/2020 00:53

Cycling (I'm a coach and on the committees of a couple of clubs so that takes up a fair bit of time.)
Sailing
Embroidery
I've recently got interested in bird watching - not seriously but I've bought a book and a pair of binoculars and enjoy watching the birds in our garden and on local walks. I'd like to learn more.

Vagndidit · 06/06/2020 10:33

😲 I thought it was prohibited to discuss hobbies on MN, because of their identifiable nature. Or does that only apply to husband's with questionable priorities?

JoesExotic · 06/06/2020 12:46

Only when it's (whispers).....cycling.

Nudge nudge wink.
