The way we do quiz night is everyone does a round each. I just found out I'm doing the same round as someone else (geography). Do you have any ideas for a new round??

Adverts for chocolate bars. Eg finger of fudge is just enough to give your kids a treat, sweet you can eat between meals without ruining your appetite.

Sparklesocks · 05/06/2020 20:04

I reckon you could still do two geography rounds! They aren’t likely to be the same questions? Unless you’ve both just googled ‘geography quiz questions’ and gone on the first page Grin

Something we do in our quizzes which goes down well is logos with parts/names blocked out and people have to name the brand. Quite easy to knock together too.

Sharpkat · 05/06/2020 20:07

Look on Instagram - picture round - hot dogs or legs. It is hilarious. We also did a catchphrase round as well.

Have fun!

Film posters with the titles deleted?

Movie taglines?

BreadmanAndCake · 05/06/2020 20:10

I had this problem the last time I hosted the family quiz. I ended up doing a lyrics round, a 'higher or lower' round, a 'snap' round where I gave an item to find and the first person to find said item and hold it up to the camera got the point, and also a picture round where I cropped pictures of people in our family and famous people, and they had to guess who it was (if that makes sense) Smile

mineofuselessinformation · 05/06/2020 20:11

Name the cocktail:
You read the ingredients (not amounts) and they have to make it.

ImNotWhoYouThinkIam · 05/06/2020 20:14

My sister did a clever round where the answers to the first 4 questions were linked and provided the answer to the last one.
So questions 1-4 gave the answers May, Taylor, Mercury and Deacon.
Question 5 was something along the lines of "which band who formed in x year link the 4 previous answers"

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 05/06/2020 20:15

Sport
This week in the news
Movies
Music
Picture round (tons of options online)
Famous quotes (who said them)
Riddles
Dingbats
History
Or choose a theme and come up with questions e.g Monkeys. Questions about monkeys in film, songs, different types, quirky facts, sports mascots etc.

pudcat · 05/06/2020 20:18

You could still do Geography. Anagrams of countries and they have to name the capital city

AdaColeman · 05/06/2020 20:25

All the answers start with the letter G ( or what ever letter you choose obviously)

Which decade? Choose events very close to beginning or end of a decade to make it more interesting

alittlerespectgoesalongway · 05/06/2020 20:26

We had a quiz recently and the geography round was interminably dull. Personally I hate general knowledge quiz rounds so think your friends have done you a favour as you can get something really interesting now! Lyrics (guess the song or write the next 3 words), Higher/ lower, which happened first (of 2 interesting things), close up of a chocolate bar wrapper or common board game and see if you can guess what it is, name the Mr men.

Shamoo · 05/06/2020 20:27

We had a family quiz recently and one round was clever anagrams of people in the family’s names. It was great!

Thunderpunt · 05/06/2020 20:35

Give them 5 items to find in the house.... written in a foreign language, we used French
For example (no one allowed to use google translate)
Un telecommande
Une chemise
Une parapluie
Brosse de dents
Un ampoule

Thunderpunt · 05/06/2020 20:37

Or each team has to build a tower taller than tallest person in their team using only books, tins, cushions, pillows. Has to stand for 10 seconds

nonevernotever · 05/06/2020 20:39

I did one recently with a list of famous people and made all my family put them in order of height. They cursed me but enjoyed it. (eg Charlotte bronte was about a foot shorter than Emily bronte ; Mary Queen of Scots was just under 6foot - add those into a group and it confuses everyone!)

Cancangirlie · 05/06/2020 20:45

Groups of animals, crows-murder flamingos-flambouyance owls-parliament

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 05/06/2020 20:47

Boat names....you could name the captains and they have to name the boat/ship or the otherway around

or where they first landed... or where did it sail from?

Titanic, Mayflower, Golden Hind, Santa Maria ...real boats

The Black Pearl the Jolly Roger, The Inferno... fictional boats :o

AdaColeman · 05/06/2020 20:49

Books
Give a list of well known books to be put in date order of first publication
or
A list of characters and name the books they are from.

GoatsDoRome · 05/06/2020 21:01

The house of games has provided my quizzes with some different quiz rounds. I like answersmash and I’m terrible at dating - look them up for full detail but a picture a clue that create a smashed answer, and guessing the year an event happened! Also “who am I” where you read a short sentence and they have to guess who you are talking our

Flixsfoilball · 05/06/2020 21:12

Celebrity baby pictures or mug shots?
Anagrams
Movie quotes
Movie titles done in emojis

TroysMammy · 05/06/2020 21:28

Cancangirlie the best one ever - a loveliness of ladybirds.

TheoriginalLEM · 05/06/2020 21:33

Saints and sinners. Saints, good people, not so good people.

WonderWebbs · 05/06/2020 21:41

We did a charity quiz online recently and they did a round on famous people through the ages all starting with the same Christian name.

Or how about finish the lyrics on a song round.
