What is this weird tonsil thing?!

I have this really weird patch on my right tonsil. It looks very much like a mouth ulcer (which I am very prone to) but it always crops up in this exact spot. Its happened at least twice before. It's sort of flat and white, not pronounced enough to be a tonsil stone. Don't think it's tonsillitis because it's only on the one tonsil and having had tonsillitis before it just doesn't feel like that.

In itself it's not that painful. It's giving me a mild sore throat and some pain that is radiating to my right ear but the headache it's giving me is the absolute worst. From the minute I wake up to going to bed it's just constant, dull, headache. Again this is common for me when I have a bad mouth ulcer. Just seems such a weird place to get one. Anyone have any tips to ease the pain?

Gargling with salt water can help. This is likely pus from a bout of tonsillitis but could well be an ulcer, again from tonsillitis. I'd give the GP a ring and see if they are willing to give you antibiotics.

It does sound like an ulcer. Have you tried gargling with Corsodyl mouthwash? It tastes vile but it's the only thing that works on treating ulcers for me. That plus a blob of Iglu/Bonjela on a cotton bud?

I don't think I'd be able to reach it with a cotton bud but will definitely try gargling and I guess I'll just have to use painkillers for the headache.
