No Contact From Nursery

AIBU
Nursery waived DD fees at start of lockdown for summer term but since then the only contact we’ve had is to say that they would not be reopening (1st June). Many ofDD friends at different settings have had little videos of key staff singing songs, reading stories etc.... Clearly they are trying to keep the memory of nursery alive. I just feel DD has been cast adrift....Totally appreciate the difficulties of preparing for younger years to return (I’m a teacher myself) but to have zero contact from a pretty pricey place is, I think, very poor.

I would guess everyone has been furloughed so they aren’t allowed to contact you and your child.

SuperSleepyBaby · 04/06/2020 01:02

I wouldn’t expect this. What age is your child?

LandofBears · 04/06/2020 01:14

The only way they will have been able to waive the fees is to furlough the staff which means they can't work at all hence there is no one left to contact you.

She’s only 3 1/2 and to be honest I just accepted it all, it’s only been since hearing what has been provided by other nurseries that I’ve started to wonder why we’ve had zero contact

It’s a nursery which is part of a large independent school

But furloughed staff are not allowed to work - that would include singing and dancing and reading stories.
