Noticed that a thread I was following was taken down as there had been too much “socking”.

Forgive my ignorance, but what does “socking” mean?

Must be sock puppeting in that context.

Sock puppeting? One poster pretending to be someone else to inflame the debate like on one of the black people matters post they could switch accounts and pretend to be a white supremacist then pretend to be black etc etc
