Getting a bit sick of disappearing threads

Any discussion of any current even vaguely contentious issue just vanishes - loads of great content just nuked.

OP posts:

I think that lockdown has revealed how many threads are fictitious.

When people led busy lives it wasn't as obvious but now in order to get attention the threads have become more ridiculous and so it is obvious when the OP is being over creative.

@Laquila

I just came back to check on an 11-pager that I'd contributed to and it's disappeared! It had apparently "strayed too far" - what does that mean??
Snap. Guess we'll never know.
GrumpyHoonMain · 03/06/2020 16:12

I have noticed deletion gets used instead of effective moderation here

cheesyrats · 03/06/2020 16:13

@LovingLola

And the one about the 18 and 8 year olds..is that gone?
No, it hasn't gone.
ITonyah · 03/06/2020 16:15

I am pleased to see that MNHQ are moderating and deleting more effectively. The personal abuse on here gets totally out of hand sometimes.

MrMeeseekscando · 03/06/2020 16:17

I once asked for my comments to be deleted as I felt they were identifying and it was refused.
It's inconsistent

Lola001 · 03/06/2020 16:25

Think this just shows how many fake posts there are.. Wonder if there's a special department and MN HQ for these posts ;-)

Yes to this.

Instead of deleting stuff for descending into a bunfight, how about MNHQ deal more sharply with people who post like tossers. Maybe then MN will become a nicer place again for discussion, debate and advice. These days there isn't much of that at all.

The lottery one closed down as a journalist put it on a newspaper site so it’s not a good example but I have seen loads of “the OP asked us to take this down as it’s causing RL hurt” etc
