Dumb Chicken Question

I placed frozen chicken in water yesterday and put it in the Fridge to defrost.

Forgot about it last night, is it safe to eat tonight?

It's been defrosting in the fridge, so yes it will be safe.

If it's been in the fridge it's fine.

Ok, even though the chicken was in the water, in the fridge?

Not just in water, out of water and then in Fridge?

Use your senses of sight and smell. If it looks dodgy and smells dodgy, avoid. If it doesn't, you're fine.

For future reference there’s no need to put the chicken into water if it’s defrosting in the fridge.

Why did you put it in water? Just put it in the fridge

If its in the fridge, it should be safe.

Why on earth would you put it in water? Thats just bizarre!?

It should be fine and even if it wasn’t and you couldn’t ‘smell’ anything bad then cooking it properly will kill off bugs

Sorry, I put it in water to defrost it quicker as it was supposed to be for last night. However, there was a fly in the kitchen so then I popped it in the fridge and forgot about it!!

I am suffering from severe lockdown memory issues!
