Dumb Chicken Question

DragonTrainedByLucy · 03/06/2020 13:05

I placed frozen chicken in water yesterday and put it in the Fridge to defrost.

Forgot about it last night, is it safe to eat tonight?

It's been defrosting in the fridge, so yes it will be safe.

Aquamarine1029 · 03/06/2020 13:07

If it's been in the fridge it's fine.

DragonTrainedByLucy · 03/06/2020 13:08

Ok, even though the chicken was in the water, in the fridge?

Not just in water, out of water and then in Fridge?

It's fine.

DragonTrainedByLucy · 03/06/2020 13:11

Thank you everyone!

Use your senses of sight and smell. If it looks dodgy and smells dodgy, avoid. If it doesn't, you're fine.

Ninkanink · 03/06/2020 15:48

For future reference there’s no need to put the chicken into water if it’s defrosting in the fridge.

dementedpixie · 03/06/2020 15:49

Why did you put it in water? Just put it in the fridge

EatDessertFirst · 03/06/2020 16:06

If its in the fridge, it should be safe.

Why on earth would you put it in water? Thats just bizarre!?

Mollymalone123 · 03/06/2020 16:10

It should be fine and even if it wasn’t and you couldn’t ‘smell’ anything bad then cooking it properly will kill off bugs

DragonTrainedByLucy · 03/06/2020 16:22

Sorry, I put it in water to defrost it quicker as it was supposed to be for last night. However, there was a fly in the kitchen so then I popped it in the fridge and forgot about it!!

I am suffering from severe lockdown memory issues!
