Also, he just looks like a clean cut public school boy. Just about the opposite of my type.

FelicisNox · 04/06/2020 18:55

Nah.... he looks better now.

MartySouth · 04/06/2020 19:00

helendee posh boy? Keir Starmer?

He was the son of a nurse and a toolmaker and was educated at state schools.

Boris Johnson on the other hand...

Fizzydrinks123 · 04/06/2020 19:22

Starmer's school was only a state grammar for around three of the years he attended. He started 1974 and the school then became private fee paying in 1976 (equivalent of approx £20,000 p.a. today.)

Starmer attended the private fee paying school from 1976-1981.

He was a junior exhibitioner at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama until the age of 18, and played the flute, piano, recorder and violin. Not your average state boy at all.

It is strange that even though easily readable on Wikipedia etc, there is still the myth that he's a state educated boy.

Mrsmadevans · 04/06/2020 19:30

No! No! No ! you have got him all wrong , he is absolutely the spitting image of Ian Carmichael in Lord Peter Wimsey . Utterly gorgeous man. He is so handsome.

BGD2012 · 04/06/2020 19:36

Didn't realise he was so talented at music too.

randomchatter · 04/06/2020 19:42

Yeh but some people find Boris attractive!

If I have a pin up politician I have to share/accept his dogma... not sure what Starmer's is which explains the vagueness in the eyes I guess.

Equally good looking men, then and now, down Morrison's tbh

lemmathelemmin · 04/06/2020 19:44

Nah, I'm good

Laks0007 · 04/06/2020 19:45

Oh god no, he looks like Noddy.

Pr1mr0se · 04/06/2020 19:46

No, you must be blind

bexer56 · 04/06/2020 19:55

I’m totally in love he is just amazing! I don’t think he’s overly good looking but it’s the way he commands a room! And takes Boris down!

Fizzydrinks123 · 04/06/2020 19:58

@Laks0007 - yes, Noddy that's who he reminds me of - I'm unsettled by his intense expression and eyes. Noddy has an older friend with a white beard too...

Wasn't Keir Starmer gorgeous?!
BellsaRinging · 04/06/2020 20:02

There is a rumour that Mr Darcy in Bridget Jones was based on him (as well as, obvs, Mr Darcy). Not my type, either physically or personality wise, but he is a more palatable leader than those we've had in either party for a while.

Random , where is this Morrisons please , asking for a friend
Sally2791 · 04/06/2020 20:12

Yep he’ll do

FliesandPies · 04/06/2020 20:21

Anyone else think he looks like he could be Shaun Evans's (Endeavour) Uncle?

Shaun Evans! Yes!

And he's musical??

Wasn't Keir Starmer gorgeous?!
Shizzlepit · 04/06/2020 20:31

I would...

ItsSpittingEverybodyIn · 04/06/2020 20:50

He's really not attractive at all!

Malbecqueen · 04/06/2020 21:03

Much better now...

I confess I'm getting a bit of a crush... mainly because of how he holds Boris to account. I think some of it's a gravitas/ leadership thang...

ArntNise · 04/06/2020 21:05

@SiaPR

Not really. A bit oily and boss-eyed. I actually prefer him now, I like a fat man 😂
Boss-eyed...?

What does this mean?

ArntNise · 04/06/2020 21:09

@Helendee

Greasy, nasal posh boy. No thanks!
How is he a posh boy? His parents were a toolmaker and a nurse and he was state school educated?
Barney60 · 04/06/2020 21:12

Im with you age like wine, Corbyn never cut it, you never get a second chance to make a 1st impression, Corbyn looked like a flat capped pensioner from the 70s. He could never run this country.

Fizzydrinks123 · 04/06/2020 21:16

@ArntNise see my post above - misconception he is privately educated fee paying school boy with lots and lots of expensive music lessons. Not saying anything wrong with that at all, but he is not a state educated boy. 1976-1981 fee paying @ approx £20,000 private school.

SheWranglesRugRats · 04/06/2020 21:27

Music lessons weren’t necessarily expensive back in the days before the schools music service was decimated.

FoodologistGirl · 04/06/2020 21:32

He’s aged well. I met him back in November and he’s really friendly and kind.
