To expect bus driver to stop and let my child off the bus

My 13 year old dd got on a bus with her friends and travelled home to our home town. The bus went usual route but then instead of turning left turned right. DD stood up and rang bell at the next bus stop and the driver ignored her. He then drove to the bus garage in the center of town. When he let her off he said ' what part of greenhill only didn't you understand?' she apologised and said she hadn't reaslised it terminated before her stop. Ok she made a mistake but he should either of told her at the last stop or let her off when he realised there was someone still on the bus.
I am really cross as she is quite shy and not all that streetwise, I had her in tears on the phone and had to go and get her. AIBU?

Would just like to add, esp to Trixymalixy, not ALL bus drivers are W@*kers.

I work for a bus company, and do some bus driving as well. I'm always polite and courteous to my passengetrs, wait till they're seated before pulling away, drop people with tons of shopping at their door etc.

I'd never speak to anyone like ppd's daughter's bus driver did, sounds like he's had a bad day and taken it out on her daughter. (Not justifying it but we all have bad days and say things we shouldn't.)

I don't think that this one experience should be used as some kind of witch hunt against bus drivers. Most of us are polite and very good at our jobs, which are stressful (how would you like to sit in a traffic jam for 8 hours a day?!), we take abuse from passengers when the bus is late through no fault of our own, run the risk of being attacked, esp when driving late at night and for pay that is often only just above minimum wage.

Have kinda gone off course here now, but please don't lump all bus drivers into the 'ignorant b*&tards' categories. Most of us are lovely, honest.

Neighbors DS got on the wrong School Bus home on the FIRST day of YR7 this Sept.

When he was the only one left, the Bus Driver asked where he lived, drove him home & dropped him off right by his door!!
