If you explore Shakespeare in detail, you understand how relevant it is even today.
Sexism, jealously , gender roles , racism , ambition, romance are all covered.

Does anyone remember a programme whereby young people from a deprived area performed Romeo and Juliet?. Many of them had always found Shakespeare difficult until they performed the play and began to understand the play.

l was going to say that exact thing myself!
l never 'got' Shakespeare. l did English Lit up to A level, and still couldn't stand it.
But Chaucer - ohhh yes. l loved that.
