Now illegal to have sex with partner you don't live with?

Sueannnnna · 01/06/2020 11:46

Lots of newspapers/online articles announcing this today.
Being in a private place with partner and having sex can lead to a £100 fine if i've read correctly.

The world is going cuckoo.
But who cares about seeing my boyfriend, at least I can go shopping in Primark and go sit on a packed train (sarcasm)

I have one friend that works in the red zone. He is obviously very stressed.
Others are off work. They are not.
It depends on what department.

@PatricksRum

I feel sorry for all those working tirelessly in the hospital coming across threads like these

This.

@Hearhoovesthinkzebras @ItsGoingTibiaK @Floatyboat Can I just thank you for your intellect. The way you're all coming across is amazing. So patient.

I agree @PatricksRum Totally. This is no time for lazy provocative and knee jerk reactions. Reasoned and balanced, informed thinking must prevail. Complaining it is so awful people can’t see others in other households, to stay overnight and have sex, is not a responsible response. I know at least two couples who are doctors in ICU and working in the testing labs. They are living apart for the duration in order to protect each other.

Rather than moaning here, why not start a petition - there has to be millions affected. Whilst dating multiple people is risky, a long term but non resident dp is very low risk, lower than a tube or crowded bus!

Sunnydays123456 · 03/06/2020 14:08

That’s a good idea

BirdieFriendReturns · 03/06/2020 14:14

Oh well, I’m sure Mumsnet will be banned in the new world order.

sociallydistained · 03/06/2020 14:23

Fuck this seriously.

CatPerson99 · 03/06/2020 15:09

I expect that is illegal too!

Meeeh · 03/06/2020 15:58

@pollymere In no way does this legitimise incest! Get help as this is clearly an issue in your life and I read that rather extreme comment of yours as a call for help. All the best to you.

@PatricksRum incidentally one of us is a keyworker and we decided to meet up after two months and including a hefty period of time away from work to ensure no symptoms. We also ensured none of the kids were around either of us at the time nor the home we met in for four days.

SallyB392 · 03/06/2020 19:16

I would love love see this law being policed........

Typohere · 06/06/2020 10:59

Go for it - if found out and fined it will be worth the £100
